[Padhacking]: Wiring LT and RT (XB360)

I removed the pots on my pad (Gamestop BB-070) and soldered in the circuit with 2 10K resistors and a transistor. When I plug it in to the pc and press the buttons is changes the Z-axis but when I try to play on my 360 the buttons don’t register. Any ideas?

Having trouble locating information on the non-common ground wired pads, so thought I’d ask this. Regards the wired non-common ground 360 controller.

My goal with my joystick is to be able to not have to screw around with the controller settings once I plug it in, and that means that I need to wire up the right trigger to the RH button. Wouldn’t be much of a big deal, but I’m going to be using a non-common ground 360 PCB, so I’m unsure of where to put the resistor and how to ground it. I have a crude MSPaint with the wiring diagram here. Sorry for the link; it’s a little big and didn’t wanna break the tables on the forums. Also I messed up the colors for which is the ground and which is the signal for the X and B buttons

Now if you can see through the mess, I’ve sort of mocked-up how the wiring is going to go with everything. I just need to know how to go about wiring up the resistor for the right trigger. Any thoughts, links, etc? I really don’t wanna skip the trigger, because a little time invested here will allow me to just plug the stick into anybody’s 360 and play without goofing around with the controller setup.

here’s a pic i mocked to gether. it sums up what you’re supposed to do based on this information http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?act=ST&f=132&t=581799&st=0#entry3867534

Yep, that’s how I set mine up as well. Of course other brands may require two resistors.

Dreamstate, can you post a pic of how your trigger wiring looked when you finished?

I can try to post a pic later on today if i get the chance. In the meantime take this description* if it will help:

  1. solder a resistor between the 2nd and 3rd nodes.
  2. solder a signal wire from the 1st node
  3. solder a signal wire from the 2nd node

your 3xp or 3xk buttons will then use both signal wires for the connection

*keep in mind this is for authentic microsoft xbox360 pads

Ok, thanks. Then do I wire both signal wires to the button - no ground?

Correct! The triggers use a different method to obtain ground on their own, like good little boys and girls.

Hi I have a problem with my xbox 360 wireless controller.
The lt button keeps staying on and i think there must be a short in the board or something.
It was a second hand controller and they guy who I bought it from must have bodged it.
