The Avengers fighting game from the mid-90s. First game with assists.
Samurai Shodown Sen
Had the game awhile back and my xbox screwed it over. Gave it the Circle scratch on the disc >:(
Anyways, Japan matches were very cool in this to me. I loved playing it even though I was trash lol. Not good at 3D.

You son of a bitch, I came here specifically to mention this or Psychic Force. I played this game once and it was too hardcore cuz my arms were cut off.
There was a Bleach fighting game for NDS that came out a few years back. Despite some questionable balance (lol Wesker-tier Kenpachi) I liked the game. It could have gotten big or at least looked at by the FGC if it wasn’t on a handheld system.
Dont quote me boy , cause I aint said shh…

Doesn’t Vampire Savior have a GGPO scene, at least? I know there are way too many people who love that game to have it be “Daraku” levels of obscure/overlooked.
Yeah there is a ggpo scene for Savior. I may even say it is bigger then the xmvsf scene at this time.

Panza Kick Boxing
release year 1990
developer Futura
publisher Loriciels
category Sport
genre / theme fighting, kick boxing
Platform: Amiga, Amstrad GX4000, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, PC DOS (1990), NEC PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 (1991)
Panza Kick Boxing is a very nice kick boxing game developed by French company Futura and is based on a name of the real world champion André Panza whom you will challenge at the end. The game features both multi player and single player mode with career game mode. You can train your boxer to improve physical stats - strength, resistance and reflex. A nice and unique feature is the presence of “programmable moves”. You can assign 13 moves per match from the staggering 55 moves available. All in all, it is a good fighting game which is much more than just hitting the attack buttons as fast as possible…

Fight Fever on Neo Geo. This game hurts bad.

Shadow War Of Succession. Such a racist game, look at the way Anvil (the black guy) jumps.
It must be obscure and overlooked if no one has mentioned Clay Fighters yet.
Clay Fighters was actually pretty popular back in the days. It was a featured Fighting Game during a national Blockbuster tournament. Trust me I know, I entered, and lost first round.
“Hi, I’m Jackie Chan and THIS IS MY GAME!”

And BTW, this game is awesome. Has a thread. Go hit it up.
Tobal 2!!! mashes the submit button you can never have enough Tobal…ever.
Mace: The Dark Ages comes to mind the most, the blind shaolin monk was so godlike.
I know Rival Schools had it’s time upon release but I’d say it’s somewhat obscure. Would love an XBLA/PSN release too.

OMEGA-ANIMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Soundtrack was beast as well, but I can’t rip it or get the sources at all.
Though the obscurity seems to go for FM2K games in general.
Axel City and its cross-compatible sequel I can’t remember the name of were pretty nice for another.

And you know what? I freaking love Gleam of Force, and I’ll keep mentioning again and again.

Hitstun-scaling. Has any other fighter done that besides Smash and its clones?
