Listening to the SF podcast - JChensor has a Cammy painting?! I want to see pics of it!
of course he would. lolol
It’s tough. Balrog jumps REALLY low. If you aren’t prepared ahead of time, I would honestly just Block. If you are prepared early, then a Cannon Spike, obviously, is the best choice. A close HP also works as well, but since Balrog jumps so low and his moves hit so low, even that needs a lot of preparation, unlike against Shotos where you can use it almost on reaction.
Block and just get ready for a Throw. There’s not much else Balrog can do to you after a Jump-In except for for Throw games. He has no instant Special Moves and his Overhead is slow, so just be ready for a Throw and don’t get baited by a walking backwards Balrog into whiffing a Throw and getting nailed during your Throw delay.
lol! Yeah, that’s why I keep commenting about watching him play Cammy. He’s so friggin’ good with her, it’s frightening. I honestly don’t play him THAT much, not as much as people would think, but even just sitting around talking to him helps a lot. But yeah, when he moved out to SoCal, he needed a place to stay and I was looking for a new roommate, so it kinda all fell into place.
And honestly, it’s really hard to level up when you just die over and over and over and over again. It can be demoralizing. I’ll play him 40 games and win 3 or so. And he’s jumping from character to character and it just seems so effortless to him. Then he picks Cammy and I choose everyone under the sun and cannot touch him.
LOL!!! I’m slowly being outed as a complete obsessive wacko. Hahaha. Yeah, there was that tournament a long time ago in 2009 at the Nucleus Gallery here in SoCal, the one Kai won with Fuerte, beating Watson who got second place. Well, they were there to promote all the Street Fighter artwork that was made for the event, and I had been looking for paintings for so long… so… I figured if Iwas gonna fly my freak flag with my love of SF, I might as well do it with class.
So I picked up three paintings:
Chun:

Blanka:

And, of course, my personal favorite:

So yeah. I’m a freak. Hahahaha.

I woulda paid for that cammy one too…it looks classy actually, nice taste James
Haha, nice! Those paintings are classy indeed - there’s something about traditional media that’s so much better than posters. No shame in showing your true geek colors when you do it with such fine pieces.
If I ever came across game art that nice, I’d snatch it up for sure.
Nice James, very nice indeed.
Blanka’s art reminds me of Goku going Super Saiyan, or those DBZ style charging effects. Chun Li’s picture seems to be some kind of emotional stare. It feels melancholy…
For Cammy’s I just don’t know. It just looks weird.
But its nice to see it. Thanks for showing!
nah lol, theres ppl who put posters of singers, bands, politic stuff, models, actors. so nothing wrong with your sf ones =)
I entered G1 a couple of days ago. Had some nice fights . I can’t do any more stupid stuff or ill get punish hard. Which is good because I get sloppy against players below my level of skill. No that I have much of that .
Anyway there are really a shit load of Ryu’s in G1 seriously 4 of 5 players I play are Ryu’s. I don’t mind fighting Ryu but there are allot of coward/runway/turtle Ryu. When I win the first round allot of them go into turtle mode in round 2 and 3.
Not that I blame them. Its the game I blame it rewards that strategy but still it makes be match less fun for me.
camping is for noskillers noobs, u MUST blame them
Ugh yeah. Welcome to the salty plains AKA G1. At least the guys who jump back always end up in a corner and get messed up for a bit. Otherwise you gotta learn your distant AA game. For turtlers, it’s real good practice mixing up your game to bait them to open up/get thrown which translates to real good practice for tournaments.
It’s tougher online, I’ll have to admit. Beating Turtlers almost always requires good reactions and such, and with any amount of lag online, defeating Turtlers becomes a much bigger problem. But otherwise, it comes down to a couple of things: MAKE SURE you get them scared of your Throw game. Throws throw off online Turtlers so badly. Once you throw them once, a lot of the time they begin to panic, thinking you’re gonna Throw all the time. That’s when the fun begins.
Also, Turtlers will jump backwards in the corner a lot. This takes practice and discipline, but learn how to Crouch Fierce them if you are walking around. it’ll catch their Jump Attacks from pretty far away. Even harder to learn is the reaction DP. For example, if you go up to Throw someone in the corner and they Jump Backwards, what typically happens with 95% of the players is they’ll whiff the Throw, panic, and Block the Jump Attack. But remember the key philosophy of Street Fighter:
If you can block, you could have DP’ed.
So learn to whiff moves and react to their whiff with Uppercuts if they Jump backwards. Walk up, try to Throw, and then ONLY think DP. If you see them Jump Backwards to avoid your Throw, DP them instead of Blocking. If you DID Throw them, you can easily react to the successful Throw in time to go back to your normal post-Throw mind games.
Lastly, if you DO manage to get any sort of Throw in and they are using the corner to help them, Cross them up afterwards and get them out of the corner. It only takes one time.

I got a few ? I would like to ask…
can anyone explain why hooligan throw catches dp sometimes? its it gimicky like that?
Why does gief spd catches me when I cannon Spike right of the ground? o.O
Does LK TKCS beat all shotos DP?
- you are catching him in the startup frames of the move.
- same as above. gief is catching you in the startup frames of the cspike.
- none of the TKCS will beat any DP (except for a non-ex dp from sakura).
I have borrowed Fightpad from a friend and I have trouble doing hooligan and TKCS, any hints, tips and tricks? Other than getting a stick and/or go back to keyboard :).
get a stick? :wgrin:
Thanks James that opened my eyes a bit.
G1 Ryu’s are like rats in maze just block his options in they will run head first in corner .
A lot of G1 players are conditioned. They are much easier to predict.
Guess I have to thank all that Cammy player that went before me for that.
Not that I am winning everything but if I play solid I have no problem getting to semi finals.
i guess im suffering from Ryus FATIGUE!..
im mentally/physically exhausted from fighting Ryu… and most of all… BORED!!
last night i ended up walking forward eating Hadukens on my way to “that” Ryu and grabbed him… lol (then began Cammy Strike Vortex)
but seriously, i had my FULL share of Ryus at the moment…
Ryu = :lame: (i hate this character with all my heart)
Play Dan. Playing Dan makes me more than happy going back to Cammy. A friend also told me, “Every good Cammy has a GDLK Dan.”
im playing Sakura :wgrin:
close enough ??
but seriously, the issue here is not with me playing Cammy/Rose or any other character the problem is that im BORED from fighting Ryus… :karate:
