Yeah, because Capcom’s glorious Picasso-esque hit boxes and realistic collision detection add SO MUCH depth to the game, and is just like in real life where jumping over someone and hitting them with the back of your leg as you land is such a powerful technique.
Street Fighter would just suck without cross-up’s and be a totally lame fighting game with no strategy or skill involved.
then capcom should allow ALL chars to crossup in the same way and abuse it, like cammy basically 0-crossup with ryu or ken crossups ownage

Cammy has 2 cross ups. Her jump LK and C.Strikes. The problem with Cammy’s cross up options are:
- jump LK’s hit box is crap, so vs certain characters such as shotos, to cross them up with jump LK is situation based and not consistent.

- C.strike cross ups requires very precise distance/timing/setup to do it right where as normal jump cross ups are much more forgiving on distance and timing part.

The 2 best cross up normals in the game are Gen’s and Seth’s, and the common thing shared by those 2’s cross up is the LOW JUMPING ARC. Cammy unfortunately is cursed with a high jumping arc, so it is much more difficult than most characters. And the best special move cross ups are Rufus’ dive kicks, follow by shoto’s air to ground tatsus, Cammy’s dive kick cross up is not even close compared to those mentioned…

… No, because then all characters would probably play 100% the same. One of the fun things about Street Fighter is finding other ways to cross up and move in with characters to get damage done. Cammy has a Cross up, it’s called Dive kick, and in my opinion it’s way better than Jumping Medium kick, because you can move in with it way faster and control where it lands.

Without crossups you wouldnt be able to do much of those cool hard-hitting combos
Cammy’s crossups are crap she has em as mentioned before but they are not easy to land, this is why it can seem so bad when facing a char that has good and easy ones. I am much more worried fighting Akuma and dealing with his antics vortex, I have no idea which way to block most of the time with him.

Well pray that dive kick becomes an overhead, because it’d make her a ton more better. Also yeah, Vortex is stupid as hell and I just tend to dash forward or just wait so I don’t have to deal with it. Man, so I’m watching a money match video of myself against another local, and realized I have no fucking clue how to deal with fireballs. That, and I keep Cannon Spiking all over the place.
just block. and continue to move forward. Once your closer fireball user’s realize that now everytime i through a fireball i risk taking a jump in combo. This makes them resort to physical normals more and fireballs less.

That’s cool, until I get hit by arms. Then I become as paranoid as Fidel Castro anticipating a coup d’etat… But that’s a different story. Alright, I’ll try it tonight.
Ryu’s Jumping Medium kick crossup is ok, but who still get hit by it? All those online Ryus use mk crossup on me, it just doesn’t work. Those pros don’t even use. I almost never see Daigo use it, he only does hurricane kick crossup as far as i can see.
It was great watching James play against Keno’s boxer. Nice.
so after playing both on XBL and PSN… i could honestly say PSN SUX!!! seriously … sometimes i get 4 bars match and it still lags… and its jittery…
4 bars on XBL is GOLDEN! 5 bars = its like the guy is sitting next to you !!!.. i played 3/2 bars on XBL better than the ones with 4/3 bars on PSN…
Well guys, yesterday I got a Sagat player to tell me this: “Dude! Your Cammy is broken! There is no way this is in Sagat’s favor!”
The whole time I was doing hooligan. Low Tiger Shot? Hooligan. Forward Throw? Hooligan. Back Throw? Hooligan. LK spiral arrow? Hooligan. His first attempt to break the hooligan was HP tiger uppercut. So I landed and got a free ultra. After the finish hit, I dash forward throw. lolololololol Then the second time I did dash forward tkstrike cr. HP cr. MK -> arrow.
Gootecks believes the Sagat vs Cammy match is 6-4 Cammy or 5-5 LOL
Also,
Have you guys noticed it’s hard to land tkstrike cr. HP cr. MK -> SA on Chun-li? I was playing a chun today, and chun just would not get hit by the cr. HP. One time the guy tried to tech and I got a counterhit, but otherwise her hitstun animation dodges the my cr. HP. I HATE THE CHUN MATCH!

Sadly, this supposed “loop” is so easily broken by a well placed jab, a tiger knee or just don’t tech wake up… It’s a nice trick until they know how to beat it… Wish was as the sagat said “broken” but sadly just unfamiliarity against Cammy what did him in…
Actually those are all hooligan traps. Can’t get out unless you reversal. Mashing Jab might work on the back throw -> hooligan. Haven’t tried the tiger knee yet…

speaking of theses traps, I was playing Ken in Ranked/Player matches. And I was playing against a Cammy. So I was spiked and then, like I usually do, do a quickstand, and next thing I know, I’m grabbed. (And I was just thinking to myself while Ken is recovering from the floor, what the hell just happened…? )
But yes, when you’re not playing as Cammy, she just seems so dangerous… and agile. This is in comparison to Ken, who is slow. And then there is Sagat, who feels even more sluggish.
I guess I’ll try to incorporate hooligan traps into my game. I just can’t close in on Sagat… (need more practice).

Sagat is a horrible match really, he does too much damage and has too much health, even blocked tiger shots deal decent damage and push you far back. My record is ok against him (about 60% win rate) but I always feel I’ve had to work much harder than the Sagat for the win. If they know their spacing and timing with their tiger shots its a nightmare to get close.
Against Sagats, I dunno. I find Hooligan to be super useful. My match against Evil Elvis was just deleted, and that’s my most recent Sagat match from a tournament.
HP hooligan goes over low tigershots, while HK/MK Spiral Arrow goes under the high tigershots. So I get around half screen with Sagat, and wait. Tigershot 1, I block unless I’m specifically looking for it and I’ll usually go for the hooligan since most tigershots are low tigershots. After Tigershot 1 I’ll buffer SA/hooligan and press kick/punch according to which tigershot they throw for Tigershot 2. So that guarantees you getting in.
Other than that I pretty much treat him like another shoto, just don’t jump. If they realize tigershots are stupid against you, just walk in. It’s surprising how well dash forward grab works on these guys. Sometimes you can dash forward TKCS as well.
I had a dream last night that you could kara/cancel neutral jump short and EX Cannon Strike. Basically giving you an instant overhead. I was going to quit Cammy because she could jump in cannon strike -> instant overhead EX Strike -> Ultra.
