I don’t even bother with cammy when I dont have 5 bar latency, its just too frusterating to lose on a missed whiff punich or a fucked up combo/mixup or not being able to block etc etc…

When I play online here is how I usually roll:
5 Bars - Cammy
4 Bars - Sagat
3 Bars - Zangief =D

I’ve had to endure random lags in G1 where they whiff a combo, I lag, and they auto DP me. I kick everyone and anyone that has two bars or less in G1 just to save my fists and my stick. It used to be that I would play at least 2 bars since I heard there wasn’t alot of competition in G1 but now I realize alot of those players with two bars are Giefs, Sagats and Hondas. Give me a 3+ bar any day and I’ll say you won because of skills.

I even play some of the same people over and over because of their connection even though they may hand Cammy’s buns to me on a silver platter.

I’m not really going to adjust how I play for lag. I’ll just stick to the usual gameplan because I am trying to learn the game. Learning how to play laggers is like playing a different game and could enforce bad habits (easy considering I am fairly new).

If I played the way i wanted to play and end up losing to a fierce dp followed up immediately by a ex fierce dp before they even land, that’s fine.

I didn’t lose in SF4, I lost in lag fighter or whatever you wanted to call it.

i only disagree with the sakura statement, holy crap one poke that hits and your boned. she just needs to be played agressively. but yea feels like they nerfed all the chars of there little traits that make them deadly. sept ryu… he has every god dam little chip and mix up he ever did. as a competing cammy player, this is the only cammy advise i can give

pressue!!! mix ups and heavy pressure, the only thing she has is speed now, so use it, knock em down then mess with there head on the wake up, most players dont do wake up moves anymore as they have been punished for it alot, so walk right up and throw them. i’ve done it for a full life bar vs sagat, cause the player thought, no way hes gonna throw this time, i should block. “easy!” my cammy yells out lol.

I’m also the best cammy player in the world. ever. in RL too.

My first post here, fun but yeah I main Cammy myself and my main problem with her sf4 transition is mostly with her SBF. It is way too slow, it may be safe on block but half the time it gets punished before her arm shoots out.

Also I noticed a lot of her move set took a dive in the fact it requires you to have bars to use the EX versions of her moves to be effective in most cases.

This said I love Cammy and will probably keep playing her as a main and maybe if I am really lucky Capcom will actually buff her in some future patch doubtful but I can always hope, while they are at it they could improve Rose and Sakura a lil, two other chars that took a nose dive in sf4.

Wonder who would be a good char for me to use as an off char, reason I like Cammy so much is she’s fast and aggressive but I wouldn’t mind switching it up a bit every now and then.

Haha. Yeah. I went and played HD Remix for the first time in a long time, and I did Cammy’s Jab SBF. HOLY SMOKES, it felt like the fastest move in the world!!! It felt so cheap because it was so fast!

I always knew the SBF was stupidly slow in this game, but man… going back to HD Remix proved just how bad it is now.

Seriously, if you ever feel frustrated with Cammy in HDR just play a few rounds with SF4 Cammy, SF4 Cammy feels so inferior to HDR Cammy you’ll get new found respect for nearly everything HDR Cammy has and does. Its not just SBF (though that one stands out perhaps the most), hooligan feels so much faster and being able to grab ducking opponents is so essential to its usefulness, and even something as simple as a J.LK cross up just feels like it adds an essential element of pressure SF4 Cammy seems to lack.

All SF4 Cammy needs is c.mk xx lk SA to be safe and she’ll be a billion times better. But we’re already been through this discussion already so I’m not gonna go into it any further.

I actually, these days, would prefer Dive Kick being the Armor Break more than the Spiral Arrow, since I use Dive Kick a lot more and everytime that gets focused, I get really, really, really mad. It’s the only Dive Kick with THAT MUCH delay on landing. Rufus and even Gouken and Akuma have a way easier time blocking upon landing.

SA is not an armor break. It only gets through armor because it can hit twice. Sad to say but SBF is Cammy’s armor break.

On an off note I learned something today from facing a pretty good Viper player, don’t use FA much especially with char’s like Viper. Her lightning fist is her armor break, one of her spamable specials. Made me feel good to start winning consistently at the end though after loosing nearly 4 fights in a row.

Man wish they’d make cannon spike or SA the armor break, SBF is near useless.

He wasn’t saying that SA broke armor, he was saying that he’d rather have the dive kick gain armor break instead of SA. I dunno which I’d prefer, but I’d take anything over SBF breaking armor.

Yahhhh. I actually don’t think you can block after a FA’d dive kick. The recovery is SO long. Cammy has been very frustrating to play lately. All of my tricks have been seen and hardly work. Only people with no match experience lose to Cammy. Everyone else that I play on the regular just don’t get fooled anymore.

Think Cammy needs to gain a single safe move no SBF is not safe, it might be fine if it gets blocked but she gets smacked out of it 98% of the time before any block happens that she can use before worrying about which of her move set has armor break ability.

Though I agree anything but SBF…unless they buff the speed of the move by a lot.

Cammy would be awesome, and very playable in tourney environment with 2 changes that have been mentioned.

  1. She needs an overhead we can count on. Either let hooligan grab crouching, or give an overhead out of it. – In addition, allow her to C.Strike out of hooligan.

  2. Buff spinning back fist. It needs to be faster; not Super Turbo fast – but faster.

I agree. At this point, a command overhead ala Rufus/Viper would make me happy. I’m under the strong beleif that dive kicks hitting mid is just bogus. Not just for Cammy but everyone.

And don’t even get me started with those awful laggy specials. It’s mostly SBF and Hooligan, but Cannon Spike took quite the hit as well. I remember my CvS2 days when it used to be oh so very safe… :confused:
