I just heard from others who said they play the Location test version, you can’t do any low strike, you can only do it at apex of your jump. Then that’s very bad.

i dunno i just… don’t… know… if you can only strike after the peak of your jump then that’s virtually useless… if you can do it at about dhalsim’s head that’s alright but you still really don’t get any ground from it… can you double strike to bait throws? can you insta-strike to move forward and keep pressure simultaneously?.. this really bites the big one

now we can only EXstrike and if that misses or gets blocked that’s just wasted meter and a clear opportunity for the opponent they think “oh i blocked that and he doesn’t wanna use any more meter so he won’t do it again”… I guess the standard knockdown mixups will prolly still be viable like the old backthrow> ambigous cstrike crossup… but other than situations like that we are now back to square 1

and i have never used TKCS to build meter, well maybe to get that last little millimeter for a EX cancel or something… other than that I would mainly use it to keep pressure on like TCKS>(blocked) cl.MP> far LP> insta-Cstrike and that way i stay on my enemy… now i got next to nothing… still stoked about the normal buffs…

my counter-argument to this would be that the constant threat of a tkcs with or without meter (and if your sitting on super then the threat of that tkcs into a super combo) is what allows cammy’s frame trap game to become so strong and deadly, if you remove the threat of strikes at any time then people will have much less incentive to do the anti-dive option selects which we love to CH so much…

Yeah… I tend to use jump quick strike more than tkcs… so as long as that is there I am pretty happy. I just hope they added a touch more block/hitstun to it, but I guess if lp > mp is easier (and now there is some kind of lp, lp, far fp cancellable thing???) maybe it will be OK. Really these changes feel appropriate. Cammy should be about lethal precision, not random pressure spam. And EX CS is still going to provide that killer bee sting. If you wanna just sit there and spam dive kicks all day, Rufus was always better at that anyways, so just go play him.

Actually, the TKCS is what makes people clam up a bit more. Lots of characters can do Frame Traps, and none of them have TKCS. It’s really just the threat of the Throw that causes Frame Traps to work. And proper Frame Traps have to work against Jabs and Shorts, so even though they won’t be Option Selecting slower moves now, you can still nail them with a well timed Frame Trap.

Thats why I gave up Dive kicks when I first heard about the nerf so it wouldnt hurt as much. It was so fun hearing her say CANNON CANNON CANNON CANNON STRIKE with her strange animations it looked so epic. One thing Ill never understand is why I always went for a grab like I dont use Cammy or know not to unless I like eating some form of sako combo. Honestly how else are we supposed to poke shields Spiral Arrow? when you can backdash Gyro Drive Neutral jump, or Lv2 fa it on reaction

most of the people who play street fighter would have a heart attack trying to jump, much less cancel a jump into anything but a stroke

i have to respectfully disagree with you here. because against normal frame traps without the threat of tkcs or delayed tkcs the person on d can just abuse delayed os tech’s and or late techs with very little fear of getting caught in the throw.

although i guess that threat will still be present with meter… idk i’m still on the fence bigtime.
