This os tkcs - u2, isn’t it a bit risky since it’ll most likely also get triggered if someone just backdashes on wakeup which is pretty common?

this is correct, but no option select is without an escape method for it. the real strength is when you combine these, will someone be all that eager to backdash after your option select SA (or DP depending on the character) has punished them allready? a good question to ask yourself is how often do you successfully predict a reversal? how often do you falsely predict a reversal? this option select just makes your prediction a bit safer, not god tier broken ^^
But option selects are meant to eliminate predictions ^^;
I’m just saying I wouldn’t risk using it since if they backdash you’re going to eat a full jump in combo for almost as much damage as you would have gotten out if u2 landed.
Finally started winning some ranked matches today. Got out of the horrible funk I was in. Turns out all I had to do was be more patient. I footsied around a little, messed around with my newly found Option Select (cr. forward to spiral arrow, thanks highlulu ) and am loving standing roundhouse. My mix up game on their wake up was pretty good today. I was able to score a knockdown in multiple matches and then follow them up some BnB and even more knockdowns. My cr. short, cr. jab, cr. short into H. SA was terrible today. I was just too late on the last crouching short and was either eating reversal dp’s or getting blocked and eating the punishment from the blocked spiral arrow. I decided to use st. strong cr. strong to H. SA and cr. fierce, cr. forward to H. SA more and had some pretty good success with them. Surprisingly.
I really gotta start to pick up TKCS more. I’m having some trouble landing them with my 360 controller but I know that once I get them down consistently I’ll be a much better player.
Yeah I have to agree entirely with what you said, getting dp’d alot as of lately with my short jab short BnBs switching to the some what trickier strong cr.strong and cr.fierce Cr. foward seems to be more rewarding and even as a block string ppl seem to think they don’t link and bam counter hit!. As for Tkcs I too use a 360 pad I’ve almost mastered them…on the right side of the screen if I’m facing left its as if I’ve never even heard of what a tkcs is T_T

while guile shows up more frequently, i guess its only because we’re looking for guile. 
i face much more chun lis, guys and ryus much more than guile.
anyhow. jumping lk crossup works wonders on guile. i used to fear guiles, but once you’re in, if they cant deal with crossup lk, its… pretty much game.
I went through a fucking terrible funk today actually-- just starting to get back even with my BP and PP, but I really need to work on my attitude so I don’t lose like 2 billion matches in a row. I find myself rushing in a ton too when I’m in a bad mood-- gotta find a way to step back and take a breather.
I just went on a 37 loss streak with Cammy. The guy I played used Ryu, Akuma, Rose, Guile, Abel, and Dhalsim. I should have them in replays, maybe if you guys can look me up or something and give me pointers. Either that or I can just watch them and post up in the matchup thread. There were some things I did right, but damn if SA isn’t unsafe as a mofo. I just started playing Cammy in the process of filtering through the cast and I keep coming back to her.
hey guys, had a tournament today, a few top players from toronto and whatnot came so there was some pretty decent competition.
Came 3rd…lost to one of, if not the best rufus in ontario 3-2 in losers finals ( i beat him in a money match after, so i should have won that) and one of the best players in canada in winners finals (beat his rufus then he used balrog, his main). Ill post some videos when they are up, i think i dropped st cl.mp cr.mp combo about 100 times…tournament jitters suck!
you can post the videos in the critique thread… for the time being dont use SA outside of a combo… its unsafe (till you train yourself with the correct distant to make it safe, tip of the arrow is safe on block)… :tup:

I was checking Cammy’s framedata for a bit and I noticed something interesting.
LK/MK Spiral Arrow:
7 | 19 | 19 | -17
That’s 19 active frames, which means that if done meaty it can be +2 on block, on hit you’ll be able to combo into cannon spike midscreen.
It’s also a good setup for tkcs and ch cl.hp, c.mk x hk sa or just a plain c.lk, c.lp, c.lk x hk sa bnb.
I’m going to experiment with this during matches to see if it turns out to actually be really useful.
The great thing about frames is that you can’t see them in game, either you know or you don’t.
And it’s easy to trick someone to think they know, when they actually have no idea 
Yeah I remember CheapoCrespo doing that a lot, the only problem is it’s so painstakingly obvious on your wakeup you really need to use it super sparingly
She’s got so many okizeme options that it’ll be difficult to stay aware of it imo, since it can be done after pretty much any knockdown.
Nice catch, I’m gonna give this a try. How would it look like on using HK SA? Also, I assume you can be easily reversaled with dp if someone sees it coming, how many frames of invincibility on those usually?
I tried doing it a lot more during some casuals with this in mind, nobody really caught on as fast as I thought. It’s definitely best for characters without a good reversal, though.
why are you guys trying to use hk SA outside of combos? Thats just asking for death. If you’re trying to use SA to get in(which is a bad idea btw) try throwing out a couple of standing jabs(whiffs) and then do it from afar. See if they are blocking by the whiff block animation. obviously don’t do this if they are crouched. Mix in a few whiff jabs and then TKCS get them used to seeing that. Then start doing SA and far j.hk after the whiffed jabs.
