  1. Why the hell do people have egos in this game?
    are you kidding me? cmon now! Its not like SSF4 is gonna get you laid or rich or anything… then again, these guys might be fat and ugly or something… they need SOMETHING to make themselves feel better… Im just glad im fuckin beautiful IRL :3

2.After using Dudley against one of these egotistical douchebags, one of them used him too to try to “out-Dudley” me, and of course… he did. he did this combo that Marn does that I thought was extremely impractical. it goes…
f.mk -> Target Combo 1 (lp,mp) -> s.lp -> s.HK -> EX MGB
When he did that combo I was about to drop Dudley, because I thought I had just gotten OWNED!! but I immediately went to the lab and tried figuring it out and
what I was doing wrong was the Target combo, because I would do it like this ( f.lp,mp) and after some time in the lab I realized how EASY this combo is when you just do it without pressing forward. After I got it down a few times I asked Cheep for some online testing, and because of the lag, I was only able to land it once… the lag really messes up my Dudley…

I always wondered the same thing. No matter how u look at it, it’s just a damn game “which i wasted precious time getting decent at 4 some odd reason” but i guess alot of ppl refuse to accept it. ppl online even try to stereotype what type of person u are by the character u play i didn’t know gaming had such a ignorant effect on ppl lol, sh!t is sad. I was under the impression video games were meant to be fun. That’s why I play. I don’t play that ish if I’m not having fun, and fun varies from person to person. I just took a month break from SF and played again yesterday, and it was fun! It’s hard for me to play it everyday if im not learning something. Plus theres too much to do irl. Like if I looked like Marn and kept on playing Street Fighter I would not be having fun because I don’t like the idea of swelling fat consuming the architect of the human body.

And the egos come from the fact that most of these guys that are good were probably punk ass nerds in high school and have adopted a sense of “King of Nerds” so they assume this ego to make themselves feel better about themselves.

Maybe I’m crazy though :3 just a thought

I do take Videogames very seriously, but if Im not having fun then I see no point in playing. I simply move on to what i enjoy instead of BSing myself with something I hate, SSF4 however has been the exception as I came back many times coz its where all the FG scene is focused… that will change real soon though so I dont care anymore.

I think there is a difference between having an ego, and just being competitive. I’ll admit that I can have a big ego at times when I play SSFIV in the heat of the moment, but at the end of the day it’s all good fun. If I ever won EVO, after the grand final match I would stand on the stage and simply laugh!

And yeah, I start getting irked and that’s when I stop playing. If I’m having fun, I can keep playing all day long. But when the fun stops, I stop. Simple enough.
