I’m…bad with his links sadness I can do Bison’s crouching shorts so easily, but my hands seem to fly everywhere with Vega…I was just really happy that I managed to control my inputs for a change sigh Now I’m sad again
Do you mash them? Never mash any links. When you’re learning a link, try getting a feel for the moves’ startup and hitstun (you’re linking, remember?) and memorize the rhythm. Rhythm is pretty important.
No,I’m trying to do them by watching the animation and catching the points I need to tap the next button. I used to double tap so I’ve been trying to iron out all of it to just single taps.
The rhythm was the problem I had. I actually find things like Bison’s cr.lk x 3 xxScissors easier than something like cr.lpx2, cr.lkxxScissors…which apparently is easier.
I don’t mash anything at all, It’s just trying to get it all spot on with the single taps has taken some getting used to as opposed to double. I can do it with Bison my inputs are insanely steady with him, with Vega they just go all scrambled.

Really the only link I’m having trouble with is st.lk cr.hp. I don’t practice it much though.
I keep getting told that double tapping is really bad practice so I’ve tried putting it down to single. With Bison it’s helped me tonnes because I’m actually landing negative edged cr.lkx3xxScissors all the time without problems so I thought I’d apply it to Vega and see if it worked by using singles. It’s helped me understand his links a lot better but god is it daunting. Feels like I’m having to learn them again.
His St.lk links really annoy me XD so bloody finicky!
Double tapping works in almost any game, so it’s not really bad practice. I personally don’t use it though, and I think as a beginner it’s pretty important to understand a variety of links because it’s part of the basics. If you’re having trouble getting some hard links down consistently, you might want to switch back to double-tapping/plinking when you’re more experienced again.
Actually the only hard one is the st.lk, cr.hp link. The others are two framers.
To be honest, the hardest part I find of that combo is the cancel into EX FBA. Everything else on it comes out, but I’ll get moments where I’ll just jump forward, meaning I’m hitting it wrong at those points.
I’ll press on and keep trying. Rugal will kill me if I don’t and just give up on things XD.

You need to hold down back as soon as you hit the standing hp. Also, be sure to do a fast, clean motion from db to uf and to not tap KKK not until you have input the latter direction.
It’s the clean motion that I screw up. I’ll keep trying though. I didn’t get this far actually trying to play this game for nothing :lol:
