I love their work for soundtracks to animes too. Like D.Gray-man, the soundtrack made for that was beautiful.

Created as a reboot of the Casshern franchise, Casshern Sins tells the story of a world where robots subjugated humanity after becoming self-aware. Their leader, Braiking Boss, ruled over the world with an iron fist. One day, a mysterious girl named Luna is summoned by the people, in order to bring the salvation of mankind. Fearing her as a potential threat, Braiking sent three of his most powerful cyborg warriors to dispose of Luna: Casshern, Dio and Leda. Casshern, the strongest warrior, manages to track down and kill Luna. However, this triggers a cataclysmic event which sets into motion the end of the world. Hundreds of years later, the world’s atmosphere is filled with poison, and, due to the inability of most remaining humans to reproduce, as well as the constant threat posed by the robots, humanity is on the brink of extinction.
Robots fare little better, fearing death as much as humans do: the poisonous environment quickly causes their mechanical bodies to rust and corrode, forcing them to constantly replace their damaged parts, if spare parts in good condition can even be found. In this wretched time and place, Casshern, who had disappeared following the assassination of Luna, returns with no memory of who he is or what he had done. As he embarks on a journey to find out the truth about himself, Casshern will discover his true purpose and destiny.

I find that this anime captures the value of life really well. There are also other themes like the sorrow of not being able to bear a child and the fear to die. My favourite quote was:

Casshern: You make life overflow like a spring. All anyone does is drink from that. Dio, the humans and robots I’ve met aren’t like that! They were more…

Yes. They were blazing. They burned their lifes.
Luna: If you burn, then you will one day be extinguished!

As a whole it’s pretty hard to say. I don’t watch much Shoujo though, that’s for sure.
My favourite anime are:
Air, Hokuto no Ken, Casshern Sins, Gankutsuou, Kurozuka, Speed Grapher, BECK, Samurai Champloo, Jyu Oh Sei, MONSTER, Freedom 7, Akira, Byousoku 5 centimeter.
And a lot more.

And how could I forget Mushishi.

Hokuto no Ken <3 I really haven’t watched right til the end of Samurai Champloo, really should some time since I was enjoying the series…same goes fo Cowboy bebop actually. Akira took me a while to get into, but I like it a lot now.

I tend to like some of the weirder ones like Serial Experiments Lain, Haibane Renmei, Saikano and Texhnolyze…as well as all the obvious suspects like Elfen Lied, GitS, Darker than Black, Noir and stuff like that XD.

The more I look at the samurai champloo themed version of the pic…the more I love it XD

Anime talk eh? allow me to jump in…
berserk was great. Definitely. last episode was =O!!! but soooo good overall. I’ve never read the manga, my brother has it on his PC but I’ve never gotten around to borrowing it.
Gungrave is my other favorite. Kinda like Berserk but with guns instead of swords and modern instead of medieval. So sick.
Ouran High School Host Club was hilarious.
Burst Angel was good but focused to much on titties.
Samurai Champloo =D!!! so classic. Baseball Blues is my favorite anime episode of all time.
Trigun. Oh yeah.

Anime was great when I was a kid but definitely not for me anymore. Trying to watch Cowboy Bebop, it’s OK i guess but the translation is horribad.
