I assume if you try to hack the game and try to play as Fredrica, it’ll crash or just use Beatrice’s data. What’s worse, Frerica’s is in one of the stages, sitting down, lookin’ at you and taunting you saying “I bet you wish you could play as me.”
What got me thinking Rena was in this version is some guy is uploading the OST and this caught my eye because of the title:

They could be. I would assume if you live in the boarder-states of America such as the Southwest, it wouldn’t be too bad but trying to do anywhere else in the good ol’ USA, it is not gonna be pretty.

No doubt she’s trolling us together with her possibly lesbian lover Lambdadelta in the background. I wonder what her moveset would be, she’d definitely summon cats, but what else would she do?
Maybe. Lambdadelta is just on the other side, eating popcorn while you get your ass handed to you by your team’s final boss. Perhaps she too is mockin’ Umineko fans who wanted to play as her.
Bernkastel could use her tail either to throw or trip you, choke you out or as a basic jab. She could also splash hot tea on your face.
Rena moveset will revolve around her billhook that’s for sure. I want to say she’ll have decent attack power, great speed, but poor defense and the lack of magic will screw her over. I also predict her stage will be the rooftop where she and Keiichi fought in Higurashi and her metaworld would be a “what-if” of sorts in which she succeeds in setting the school on fire and the arena is surround in flames. She’ll be in her yandere state (okay, she’s not really a yandere per se since she never killed out of love but still…).
I also do wonder how will she be played in the storyline for this game.
Is it me or has anyone else notice that Battler has Ryu and Ken’s infamous Jumping HK-to-sweep 2-hit combo?
Also anyone in the Midwest (mainly Missouri and Illinois [Metro-East part of Illinois]) wanna have a few matches?

So, what do you guys think about Alchemist’s scheming to port this to the 360?
Can this game do well with the mainstream crowd?
I personally think that they should wait until they’ve gotten enough player-feedback and patched it accordingly (though i suppose that could be added later through updates).
As it is now, i kind of doubt people are going to cash out the usual game price for this even if they do improve the online and add extra modes or anything like that.
For a console release i suppose extra-modes, better online and a few exclusive characters will be a must.
H’ve yet to play any body in this but I do think their needs little something to be a bit better. Personally the mind game needs more influence so I say a universal feint system like Real bout series or Garou. It’l be a good tool for basic game like this i think. It’ll allow plethora of mechanics to be gimmick, for aggressor it can be like a roman cancel or for mind game tricks. They can do two version of feint that gives over head invincibility or lower body invincibility for defensive tactic since no form of push back or advance guard. ( i know i make it sound like a side step/dodge but But the properties wouldn’t be the same, i also feel a failed sidestep should result in a counter hit)
or give a universal gauge charging system since gauge management is tight.
I personally want short-hops and some sort of jump-canceling,
and just for being nitpicky, the ability to control the direction of your grabs would be neat too.
Different grab direction defiantly isn’t nit picky and dare say even require in heavy spacing game.
I don’t know how i feel about short jumps in this game. I think im too scared of it becoming another kof or air dash like game (I’m not sure if it would hurt or help the game, but i heard how jumps are consider safe because anti air are done very different in this game)
as for jump cancel, this is why i recommend some type of feint system that’s presented in Fatal fury garou and real about series. one could feint cancel their attack then go for a jump, it wouldn’t be as instant normal jump cancel but it would allow some form of it. The stun in guard would allow it to be possible ( maybe even safe) and some character may be able to combo it from a long stun attack.
I think Alchemist will launch the game as a “otaku niche title”, like Phantom Breaker, thats because is an Xbox 360-only game, thats my personal theory of course.
you do know that there are like 3 different forms of RCs in this game (dash cancel, attack touch, and meta cancel) and also a very strong form of guard cancelling (guard touch, and renove’s free one) already in the game.
jumping at certain angles is already pretty good against a lot of the cast (when they don’t have more meter than you, anyway). you have a good amount of options for mixup off it too since you have air chains and can reverse beat them. you can even delay the chains to feint and go low. i think being able to change your throw direction would be fine, though.
anyways as bellreisa put it on irc, the problem with the game is certainly not a lack of offensive options. it’s the somewhat lame neutral game. the last thing this game needs is more offensive gimmicks. if anything, the characters need more interesting/useful zoning tools.

I would also assume the song playing in this video is also her theme. Me personally, I don’t think it fits her but whatever and this is from the same guy who claimed to have Rena’s theme uploaded but it winded up being a troll vid.
I don’t quite think that’s her theme. My guess she’s got one of the few unassigned themes that currently in the FILES/BGM area (iirc, there’s… three? Been a while since I fact-checked it…)
