We have both rooms this week. As usual, please bring monitors, controllers, and setups.
We’ll have more stations for Street Fighter than usual (without infringing on other games) to accomodate ranking battles. A big thank you to Joey, Andy, Justin, and Kingsley for bringing their setups.

So. From what I understand from the console side if things, (Fighting games) BattleRoyale has a $10 venue fee plus the $10 entry fee for each main tournament you enter, or $5 for each side tournament.
The entry fees go towards the pot + pot bonuses. The venue fee goes towards the costs of running the tournament. Any profits (if any) from venue are going to charity.
This is pretty usual for fighting game tournaments.
Blown up explanation for scrubs:
So if you were entering ultra (main tourney) it would be 10 venue + 10 tournament entry. For a total if $20. If you also entered Arcana Heart+side tourney) you would pay an extra $5. For a total of $25. The $10 from ultra entry goes to the ultra prize pool. The 5 from ah goes to the arcana heart pool. The 10 venue goes towards venue cost.
If you want to play some weird PC games you have to pay the full battleroyale fee. This covers your venue into both console and PC gaming. This doesn’t apply to most of us.
For anyone who was looking to jump on it, digital copies of Guilty Gear Xrd are 60% off on PSN from today until Monday. That’s $20 for PS3 and $24 for PS4. Cheaper and more immediate than waiting on that “deal” that will never come. (You know what I’m talking about. ;D)
EDIT: Also, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown with all the DLC packs for $6 (80% off). Come play with AAK and I, and level up that yomi.
I’m so tempted to pick up one of those 3rd Strike Online’s since it’s $3 and $4. Though, no real idea what the difference between normal and complete is.

Why not put the profits from the tournament towards funding for Ottawa events like buying new consoles or monitors?
We don’t make enough money from the tournaments and all of this one’s proceeds are going towards charity.
I am thinking about pre-ordering MKX. Are any other Ottawa players doing the same? Aris from AvoidingthePuddle.com is really into MK and since I watch him stream so much I have gotten interested.
There were hardly any Mahvel players at the last Ottawa tournament. I wonder if there will be some this time?
I might, but considering how long it took MK9 to load whenever you started it up on PS3, I’m curious on how long it’d take for MKX. Plus, I’ve only got 30 gigs on my 80 gig PS3 and am pretty much broke so it’s tough to say. Maybe if I can land some work.
As for Marvel? I’ll enter if someone pays my entry fee and lets me use their stick, lol.

I played Julian yesterday and got bodied 5-0. I have to say, his Cammy is pretty damn good. I also have to say I suck at SF4.
AAK told me there will probably be no Tekken Tag 2 at the tournament tomorrow…pretty discouraging. I might still go, but I lost confidence in my SF4 skill, I might not enter it. Heck, maybe I should just stay home. But, I will still go, probably.
