20on paul over familyfraud
20 on me over paul in marvel
I’ll take that James and I challenge u FT10 in AE for $50
I’ll take it when I’ve had a chance to brush up on AE
I’ll brush up in marvel and ae too then lol, my AE disc is broken frig haha
So. A few problems with Tuesdays. Schedule suddenly changed to put a 5 to 9pm class in Tuesday afternoons. Luckily it’s one I’ll be exempt for soon, since I took an identical class at another college. Until then, I kind of have to go to it.
That means late Tuesday gathering tomorrow and shift of the Gonq meets to Mondays at 6pm until I can get my paperwork finalized.
So I bought a stick and it’s like going back to square one. Like I’ve never played a fighting game ever. I thought it was pretty amazing testing out Skullgirls and 3S but AE and Marvel 3 killed me. Can hardly SRK FADC U1 it’s so bad.
I’d tell you to keep it up, but I just built a Hitbox instead of making the jump from keyboard to stick.
Anyone going to HQ this Friday?
Well Im going tonight, but since I catching an early movie Im probably gonna have nothing doing tomorrow night and will find myself at HQ then as well.
If you are there then there will be games
So as some of you noticed yesterday, we now have a recording station. It’s even got a larger TV so people can spectate easier. Testing it last night gave good results so it’s pretty much good to go. I’ll need to figure out how to get mics hooked up for commentating and an overlay so we can keep track of score but that stuff is just icing on the cake. The main functionality works. That said…
If you want to record a match, each player will have to pay $1 (so a $2 total to have it recorded). Yeah, this is nickel and diming at it’s finest but HQ needs the money. HQ isn’t self-sustaining right now, which is what it needs to be. I mean, HQ owes Kevin $40 for T13 and we can’t even do that because there hasn’t been anything going into the system.
Also, the “free admission as long as you buy a drink thing” is temporary as it’s a deal I’ve made with the landlord. That said, it’s already proving to be a good move, as people are now willing to give money (instead of me constantly pulling it out of people) as they get something and it’s a great way for me to check if you’ve paid. Besides the drinks, it effectively drops the cost of attending HQ to $1 a night so you poverty status students can attend easier. We’ll see how it goes and depending on its performance, I might make it permanent.
On top of this, I still want to do an HQ tourney (where the prizes are HQ things) and judging from the chatter from last night, it sounds like people are down to participate. I’m thinking of doing on either on February 28th or March 1st. If you’re interested, tell me (via SRK, text, in person, etc.) and mark the date.
Remember, I’m always looking for new ways to keep HQ interesting and relevant. That and someone else to help me run it when I’m not there.
Oh, and shoutouts to Fawaaz. Good shit last night.
What happened last night? Was it recorded?
Just curious if you guys can stream from HQ, or do you not have a setup/good enough internet for that?
GGs
I don’t believe it was, but it wasn’t anything special, I just played a lot better than I usually do.
I have nothing against the nickel and diming, makes perfect sense, my only question though is what about money matches? You see me being the king of poverty I usually play $5 MM’s, if Im playing for $5’s and paying a dollar a match to record Im looking at losing a lotta money every time I try to record my MM. Oh well, Im sure we can agree on something.
Just MM for six and make sure you win.
When is Paul vs James happening?
This. You definitely leveled up and it’s always good to see someone’s efforts pay off. Keep at it.
Well, recording is optional but think about it this way. With the way HQ is running right now, entry is effectively $1. You’ll have the spare $1 for recording if necessary. I know it sucks being a king of poverty but I figure $1 really isn’t going to make or break you financially. But yeah, talk to me if you really can’t come up with the scratch. Depending on my mood or the match up, I’ll waive it or pay it myself (BECAUSE I PAID FOR EVERYTHING ELSE WHY STOP NOW).
Also, I personally ordered these buttons (http://www.indiegogo.com/HBFS30/x/1152187?c=home) and got them somewhat recently. They’re not Sanwas but they’re actually mechanical switches found on most mechanical keyboards. They’re quite durable. On top of that, they have padding inside the buttons so it’s a lot quieter compared to a standard button. If anyone is interested, I’m selling them $4 a button. They’re definitely more than your standard button but they’ve got some bells and whistles that may interest you. I’ve put one on one of my Wii SEs so if you want to give them a try before deciding, hit me up at HQ.
Yo Johnny how much was that lagless television you bought?
