Bring back Snacks!
Concerning the multitude of games not listed in the event, do we have to pay to bring our own stations? And if so do we have to bring tvs too?
If the answer to either of these questions is yes this place has learned nothing from the elan games sucktrastrophe… although I had fun there I don’t plan on paying somebody money to get me and my stuff across the city to use their electricity for casuals again anytime soon

There might be room for casuals, but the main focus of our tournaments is definitely going to be the tournaments!
I would love to have 8-10 setups for each game (SSF4 and Brawl), and I only have about 5 of each confirmed as of now. If anyone has a TV or 360 + Game they can let us use, please get in touch with either me at bbueno@gamingottawa.ca or Gilette (Logan)

You are going to need some Blazblue setups. That way I can invite the montreal crew down too.
I’m not sure about how much Gillette has shared, but we still need help with setups for SSF4! Right now it looks like we have 5 confirmed setups, but only 2 confirmed copies of the game. If anyone can help out by letting us use their game disk, 360, or LCD TV we are going to do a hardware run Friday Jan 28th in the evening, and then return everything on Sunday morning.
As for having setups of other games… We would like to have setups for everyone to play in the tournament, and for friendlies to happen. If there is enough room, we might be able to accommodate an extra setup for another game, but our focus really is SSF4 and smash this month. Next month it is most definitely going to be MvC3 heavy.
Should I go ahead and stir the pot for BBCS side of things for next month?

Going to wait for Ben’s word on this however I’ve made it known that it could definitely draw a crowd. I think space is the big concern so they’ll probably be able to better make that call after we see how the venue handles this tourney

So just to do a quick poll here - what do people think of ending the Ranbat season next week? Top 3 is basically set in stone at this point barring any major upsets and that lets us finish off the season with what’s looking to be a kick ass tourney.
I’d like to start fresh for the next ranbat season and look into doing a $5 buyin instead of $10 and to shorten it to either 4 bi-weekly events OR 8 weekly events. The second option is preferable however this is solely at the discretion of FreezerB and his roommates and I cannot speak for them at all.
Basically the reasoning behind this is that it feels like this season has dragged on quite a bit, 4 months is far too long for something that only happens two nights per month and it seems that people are starting to lose interest since the top 2 spots at least are pretty solidly established. Having a shorter season (4 bi-weekly) can shake things up a bit more from a smaller amount of good performances and/or I feel that 8 weekly events would keep things moving much more quickly.
Thoughts?
I like that idea, 4 months is definitely too long. I forgot we were even keeping tabs on all of this. Oh btw logan if you need any help spreading the word about the tournament through carleton just let me know at the ranbats this friday.
