Ottawa: The Young and the Restless

just a guess, but if the opponent times it right, can he set it up so that he blocks one direction but parries the other?

at least it’s like that in 3s.

Alex if you are going for the 2 man team tournment at MAT for 3s. If you want I can be your partner if you are out of luck.

too… much… to… read x_x; *didn’t read it) i’m sure it was a whole bunch of compliments, encouragment, and good humor^^! lol.

<3 <3

Yea. Down parry works no matter what side you land on…this is when I started using S.Fierce but really I should be using (close 2-hit) S.Strong because you can hit confirm that into super no problem. If you set it up right (meaty - after a knockdown ot after kick super) it’s actually much better for the P Groove player to try and block then go for a parry.

Alex what do you mean by love? yes or no(If you want to say no, then say it, i will understand)? Julia it wasnt…it was all saying Ottawa shouldnt even compete at third strike caz we would get raped and he said there is no point of competing if we get raped…which is wrong but oh well.

When I first went to Mtl to play CvS2 (just less than a year after the game came out) - I got raped. The first tournament I played in - I lost, won, lost (out). After that I started to do better and better…

It’s important to experience how good other players are…otherwise you’re just prolonging your development in the game. Playing in Ottawa will only get you so far because 1) we are not experienced enough competitively 2) Many players don’t grasp the basics.
Knowing the system…all the combos…the frames…is only the start point. Experience allows you to understand and get accustomed to all the set-ups and mind games : which is what makes the game. Experience against good players teaches you how to use them effectively. Value your time and games against players like Dave, Dee, Steve and even…maybe…in the slightest…Traian - they will teach you the intangibles of the game because of their experience in other games.

it was a yes

lol, what if I had said no? you would understand what?

p.s. im using Q

Is anyone planning on going to the arcade later today.
I’m heading there after work @ 5pm. I know Khiem is working tonight and Dee and Dave should end up there as well.
Steve, Jon, Shen, Yang?

You already know who I am using. If you said no, I would understand, meaning I know you would want a team member who is better than you so you can stand more of a chance. Q? Howcome not Alex or Chun Li(your best).

Edit: I will be going to the arcade to train on Cvs2…I need to know what Sagats crossover move is and the combo to do after that. I also need to know more blanka strategy than sitting back or jumping randomly with fierce(K groove). Does blanka also have a crossover move/combo?

Ryad: Kara Demon?

God damn it, stop hating on Ahmed. If I hear complaints about how people get beasted, I’m just gonna quote Ahmed’s post, and let it be known that he told you so.

I’m most likely going anyways,

I’m annoyed that Alex’s best character is Chun-Li!:wtf: He’s at that level where his best should be like Ryad’s Necro/Akuma, not ken/yun/chunli. Low/Mid tier all the way!!

Ryad: Akuma/Necro
Ehsan: Urien
Ahmed: Urien
Me: Dudley
Steve: Sean
Shen: Twelve (tweleve)
Alex: I like rocking the boat

EDIT: Sorry not best char…just most played!

Hey Alex, you still want to team with me for A3 teams?

A-Chun ftw

Dudley = High tier
Urien = high low tier
Akuma = i forgot i think it was below urien

naw i aint going today bro, im headed to the studio.

but i will be there tomorrow and friday evening.

Thats the recent Japanese list of the matchups and tiers. Dudley is high mid and Urien is up there too but not top tier. Only tops are Yun, Ken, Chun Li, and Makato.

David…he picks Chun li because he wants to win really badly…

Last jap tiers were:
Top:
Yun
Chun
Ken
Makoto (not considered top in US though)
Upper:
Dudley
Yang
Akuma
Mid:
Urien
Ryu
Oro
Ibuki
Low mid:
Elena
Necro
Alex
Bottom:
Remy
Q
Hugo
Twelve

Theory fighter ftw

Edit: Fuck, didn’t see Ehsan’s post

you’re a scrub

of course

what the hell does “high low” tier even mean? stop making shit up

Although the order is pretty much set nowadays (the few new things discovered enforce the top tier chars even more) setting the boundries can be a bit subjective:

Using that point system, I would divide them as follows:

Top Tier:
Yun
Chun li

High Tier:
Ken
Makoto
Dudley
Yang

Mid Tier:
Gouki
Urien
Ryu
Oro
Ibuki
Elena

Low Tier:
Necro
Alex
Remy

Shit Tier:
Q
Hugo
Twelve
SUV (lest we forget)
Sean

I dont agree with a few things about that order but I believe tier lists are decided by polling some of the best competitive jap players and they have much more insight than any of us into this game.

ok just remind me who you are, your name your team, did we played before (if not thats even better)… just as a reminder ???

By the way im not saying yes depending on who you are lol… its a yes for sure :wgrin:
