For me I dont pick a character really because he is top tier or low tier, I try to pick a character I actually like and think he/she/thing is cool. If for some reason in another dimension I liked chun li then I would pick her the most in 3s. So in 3s Urien is too cool and badass, Ken is a cocky motherfucker and Akuma…well fuck Master of Sf himself. Man if I could and it would be legit, I would be playing as Gill all the time. …
But…if you really want to be competitive and go around cities and shit trying to take tournments then you have to pick a character that is either top tier or very close to it. Someone that stands a very good chance. You cant expect to do that shit with twelve, sean or hugo because you are going to get beasted by pros.
