OT - Capcom Design Works - Early Days Artbook

Because soon enough it will be released in the US, you can thumb through it and decide for yourself if you want to purchase it. Since this Discussion Thread is moderated by Erik Ko from Studio Udon who is releasing the book here stateside, I’m not sure it’s a great idea for me to advertise to you to go buy the Japanese version.

One thingss got nothing to do with the other.

The book is out, and he has the right to buy it.

I live in Germany so it makes no difference to me. I can’t “thumb” through any of them so I depend on other people who alrady have it and it would be nice if someone could tell me if there is anything that was not already in hundreds of other artbooks and guide books because then I won’t buy it, I mean the images, don’t care about the text right now. What I saw at ebay were all old pics that I already have. Nothing rare or lost either.

Fine, whatever. If this post is deleted by a Moderator than so be it. The only drawing that’s rare kind of that only appeared in Capcom Illustrations and does not appear in Capcom Early Days is the Map Pick of the Shadowloo base used for the SF Whitehall RPG Games drawn by Akiman and Shoei. In Capcom Illustrations they are a bunch of images all put together as one big image with lots of Japanese text. In SF Eternal the drawing is put in there but all the images are seperate and there is no text.

SF Eternal also has a bunch of really really old SF2 Art.

Capcom Illustrations also has tons of sketches that did not appear in Capcom Early Days.

Overall most of this Artwork is something you’ve probably seen on the Net already.

Thank you very much.

On about the Tenth Post of this Page, I did a side by side comparison of Capcom Early Days and Capcom Illustrations.

You’ll have to excuse my stupidity/gullibility/nut hugging, but there’s no way this is the Bengus, right?

I notice it says the location is Tokyo and the occupation is Capcom artist, and one guy asked him about doing a SF cover for the comic. So is this the real deal or are you guys just yanking my chain

Why would that happen? Youre crazy, man.

Everyone’s free to review whatever book they want, or describe what’s in it, what’s missing, or what’s the difference between versions. Just don’t post scans of copyrighted material or any links to websites that have such scans. This forum isn’t overly strict about rules and regulations, and it’s going to stay that way for as long as i’m not forced into putting into writing what everyone already knows they shouldn’t do. Plus you can always check with udoneko or myself via PM first if you aren’t sure about saying something.

Thanx for the comparison sano.

I thought I’d post this up as it’s relevent to the thread. Mind you, unless you have over a hundred bucks to blow, then don’t worry

Just so you guys can see how much these things go for (most of you already know i’m sure).

Mohammed Ali

Because it’s happened to me before, but it was for a some what related reason that I’m not going to get into here. Let’s just drop it and you’re welcome!

$100 Dollars for Capcom Illustrations! Not to mention, most of the copies of that book flating around Ebay are bad copies that look nowhere near as good as the original. (I got an original copy when it was new for 35-45 bucks, and even then I thought I was paying a lot!) Forty Bucks for Capcom Early Days? It’s a Twenty Seven Dollar Book! Damn I hate Ebay…

Please order your copy of Capcom Early Days from Tokyo Central - I posted the link on this Thread before. Last I checked they were out of stock so you may have to wait until they reorder. I got my copy lightning fast.

They have more copies now, Still cheaper than 40.

OT, but does anyone have the SF III all about characters book? Does it have lots of character art work or is it just a game guide book with a few pics?

There’s an SF3 Fan Book from Gamest that has lots of art, mostly from Manga Artists and from Fan Artists.

The All About SF3 Book called the Fighting Bible has some art and some sketch work art, but it’s not overflowing with art by any means.

The SF III fan book is hard as hell to find. I’ve never seen it for sale anywhere.

I already have the fighting bible SF III book, but they also made another book that was on the characters. It’s called SF III All About Characters.

Hmm. The only other SF3 Art Book I remember seeing (I forget the title) on it’s back said, “This one is for you Street Fighter Fans.” in English. The book was based on SF# NEw Generation, contained NO new Artwork, the same character Artwork you’ce seen hundreds of times before, and Artwork for the backgrounds that I’m sure you’ve seen hundreds of times before. I didn’t even have sketches! I didn’t buy that book. Yeesh, I need some new Artwork to purchase it. What a rip off!

Course I’m not sure if this is the same exact book you are reffering too.

Methinks they are pulling your chain. Bengus has been using the name CRMK and only that name for the last 4 years.

Street Fighter Eternal Udon

I read earlier in this thread that Udon were publishing a North American version of the Street Fighter Eternal Artbook. Firstly I’m assuming that this will be a translated version, confirmations? and does anyone know an appoximate shipping date?

Although I only learned of the SF Eternal (and CDW Early Days) book a couple of days ago, I doubt that I could wait until the North American release. Maybe I could just buy the Japanese one and sell it when the North American one comes out.
