Anyone that has questions on why this is hit me up and i can explain.
MU and Makoto didn’t make it on there yet since they haven’t been tourney tested all that much yet.
Do you think he’s too high up? If so i’m inclined to disagree. He has a multitude of ways to go from 0 - 100% curse. While cursed he can do 8-10k on someone relatively* easily. Sure he has a couple 6-4’s(i would say the 3 above him and lambda MAYBE hakumen) and even those aren’t impossible to win. /shrug.
*yes it’s tough to do but once you get the timing down a skilled player should be able to do this with 95% proficiency.
fist pumps hey, guys? Making this money in N.J. right now. I had a few people who wanted to host ranbats, but seems like no one really want to do it. Therefore, Ranbats will start when I get back. Also, the TVs at Gamers Inc. are laggy. We need to bring our own personal set-up for them. Also, Jewbailey the dates for CEO 2 is bad for me. I’ll be in San Diego for four days that week. Change the date!!!
I can’t change the date. 2 weeks before is exp con then 2 weeks after is the Miami tournament. And sometime in November December is Tampa titans 3. I’ll just do another one late December or January. Besides not like you’ll place high anyways lol. This isn’t a CEO 2 either just another hooters like tournament minus the waste of space smash and call of duty. There will be plenty more If this one works out and rockys sees the light of the community.
I’d buy Hazama being upper-mid. His zoning is pretty functional against most of the cast, and JAYAKU HOUTENJIN (that move definitely merits allcaps, it’s that amazing) is one of the best ways to spend 50 meter in the entire game.
I think A-tier Arakune is pretty accurate. He’s admittedly very vulnerable while he’s building a curse, but his damage output even with midrange execution in curse mode is so amazing that I think he merits A tier. Get a good bug bite in and you’re looking at either an EPIC comeback or a killing blow, depending on how much life you chipped off them before you started your combo.
As for the present DLC characters…I would say that Mu will probably end up more or less where Lambda falls in B tier. Her zoning pressure takes a bit more work to set up, maintain and properly utilize, but she’s got pretty respectable single-hit damage and respectable combo utility. Overall she seems like her matchups function generally the same way Lambda’s do.
Makoto I would actually propose for A-tier potential, or at the very least the top of B. Her offense is a bit linear compared to characters like Bang and Ragna, but her combo damage and utility seems more than suited to picking up the slack when she DOES land a hit. It’s not just the loop, either, her level 3 D moves do pretty respectable damage and build pretty decent meter to boot. She’ll probably get dragged down by matchups against Bang/Litchi and maybe Hazama as well, but against many other characters I think she’ll be even at worst. That squirrel is a FORCE, I really hope Valkenhayn turns out similarly beastly (HUR HUR HUR FURRY JOKE HUR HUR).

I think a lot of people will agree that Arakune and Carl are top of A tier. And i’m also convinced that ranbats is a myth

but yeah I do think Arakune and Carl deserve to be up there. I’m not sure how I feel about Hazama but he does have amazing zone, ridiculous meter gain, decent bnb’s, JAYAKU HOUTENJIN! But Haku above Ragna? Hmmm. Either way don’t really care about tier lists (unless you’re tsubaki or rachel, loldamage)
The problem with ranbats is that (a) it’s 90% Torrin’s baby, and (b) it’s a pain in the ass to organize, you’ve got to juggle a whole bunch of people’s schedules as to when it happens, keep people on task and on-site to play their matches in a reasonable time frame, keep accurate score (make sure people actually play each other as brackets dictate) and on top of all that, there’s hosting issues. Very few people around here have houses/apartments suitable for hosting this kind of stuff, and of course it’s quite the imposition when one does, to have a dozen-plus people packed into a living room, talking shit, constantly ducking out to smoke, filling the street/driveway with cars. I don’t really recall any major bitching over noise levels and crap before, but you do have to be mindful of this stuff. Things get more complicated when you’re trying to do it at a place like Gamer’s Inc. where you have to be even more businesslike because the place doesn’t belong to a member of the community. You gotta be extra careful to be organized and stay on the management’s good side so you don’t get the boot for being more of a hassle than you’re worth.
I shot Torrin a PM about starting it up in his place, but at least for me, I dunno if it’s worth it. Talking to the store owners is fine and dandy, but it’s already pretty close to Friday and I don’t feel like spending the next 24 hours running around trying to round up setups and force commitments from people and crap. It’s not like nothing else can happen in the interim; there should be a Will’s Pub event this month, people can go out to Tampa for Cafe Alma (although I dunno if I’ll make it out there), and there’s plenty of time to spend the month leveling up at Nestor’s until CEO x Storm at the start of next month.
I’m not complaining or anything buuttt i’ve been hearing talk of ranbats for a while now. BUT i am complaining about Senkei not being at nestor’s that one time Diend and I were there. WASSUP WIT DAT, I NEED MA ARAKUNE EXP.
I still need to buy the game lol
on the other hand I’ve been improving with Adon in SSF4. Good thing Fahad brings his setup to Valencia all the days I’m there.
