We looked into a lot of options, the best and most affordable…not to mention plausible.
Is aquiring a viewlix copy model that can run a 360 and such…there would have to be a pay for play type of system involved with Rocky’s Management themselves, but that’s nothing a quick brain storm session can’t fix…All of this information is somewhere in the midst of the last Orlando thread…I’d have to dig deep to find all of the info…but i’m too lazy right now. Maybe tomorrow after class if this conversation is HOPEFULLY still relevant and people still care about the matter.
We all know the AE patches of the game will come through to console versions…So spending about 2 grand on a cabinet/360/labor/and possible wiring including customs paper work (Which rocky’s should already know how to deal with by now)…is much much more cheaper than $25,000 for one cabinet with SSF4 AE…
We don’t know dick about how/if they’ll handle the AE changes for the console version, but I agree anyway. If the AE changes are going to console, there’s pretty much no reason for an arcade as beleaguered and small-scale as Rocky’s to break the bank on a real AE cabinet when you could just do the coin-op Xbox option a la Chinatown Fair.
The only reason I’d even entertain the notion of going for something that retardedly expensive is the current ambiguity about exactly how AE and its changes are being handled. Give it a few months to clear up some questions (AE DLC happening? Other new characters?) and then let’s pitch that idea in earnest.

Already been discussing everything with Rocky’s. You guys should of paid more attention to RafyToro and I when we did indeed talk about all this.
I’m not gonna tease here and there like I should, but Down the road Rocky’s is looking into a Pay per hour model for their arcade, and an Arcade machine setup with MVc3/SSF4 are very high on the list. Just leave it at that for now.
If they still do that 4 cab minimum I don’t see this ever happening. It would be way too costly to buy and then import 4 machines. We’re talking 20k+. You really think that’s feasable for a community this size.
On top of that, considering the cost, we’d probably be paying over a dollar a game. That’ll add up quick and even as rarely I’d be able to come out, that’s just too steep to play something I basically have at home.
That’s like death to businesses like these. 
Regardless of the fact of how much it would cost (Which would not be more than at least 8k for all 4 if they’re thinking about the models Jebailey and I researched). We would not have to pay for any of it, Rocky’s Arcade is a business. Like any other business, they’re taking the risk of obtaining these cabs for the community that wishes to play and then some. The only money that we’ll be putting in if there will be any cabs is the money we’ll paying to play…nothing more, and nothing less. For now the only way to help them pay for these cabs is by being customers and playing their games. So let’s just hope for the best and see what can be accomplished…and continue going to Rocky’s for tourney’s and hype air hockey matches…

I managed to find this.
It’s the model that we managed to find and is the best suited for not only price but performance. It can be hooked up to the point where the cab will run on an XBox 360, and there fore the “pay to play” aspect is involved, but it’s basically a way to pay to play the game since the thing won’t play on tokens lol…According to people who have bought this and have hooked it up to 360s, they have had a great gaming experience, and was a great buy. It’s at a good price too…Anyways we will have to wait and see what’s going to happen. But remember folks, keep positive, and support when you’re able.

I support that to the fullest. That table is so quick compared to the ones I used to play on, I already got some new ideas just for that table.
But back to the matter at hand, I must’ve been mislead as I was under the impression that we’d have to pay 4k+ per cab plus fees. If the price is closer to the number you put up, I could really see that happening.
Lol yeah those are the official cabs, these are clone cabs that do the same shit and have full sanwa…so it has everything we need.
That and the actual AE software is fucking expensive as fuck to put into a cab and all that jazz. So that’s why it’s cheaper and once again not father from, to just put in a 360 and use the console version which will 98% most likely have all of the AE Patches. Let’s just cross our fingers and see what’ll happen :]!
All I know is that they get all their cabinets from one distributor, so if they can work it out with them, go for it. Anyway to make money for them.

i sure hope the monitor is up to par with the ones they use on a viewlix i.e. no lag. good luck though, having an ssf4 cab at rocky’s would be pretty sweet.
From the reviews I’ve read from other SRK members who’ve bought it for their own home, it does not lag at all…

Oh and to clarify something as to why ordering one of those machines is a bad idea with the container and all that. Coinopexpress or those independent companies don’t offer any long warranties on those custom machines so Rocky’s would be very iffy on purchasing one of them.

Good timing. I’ll drag out my PS2 and we can play some 2k2 UM. Shit comes out on PSN/360 next Wednesday and it’s SUPPOSED to have NGBC-quality netcode this time. Even if it doesn’t, I’ll use the excuse that it can now be played on people’s TEs to drag it out again for at least the first week it’s released.

Free entry poker night is tonight there if you are in the area. Win some free tokens plus 1st and 2nd qualify for a quarterly tournament for bigger prizes like gift cards and such. This will be their first one so not specific on details on that. They said that there will set ups for poker for the party on Sunday as well.
Usually play in a league off of 436 every Sunday. That I have qualified for the quarterly, which has a chance to win and move up to the big prize of winning a free trip and spot in WSOP Main event for next year. Might have to move that around job schedule that I might take up.
^^^ I’ve kinda steered away from free poker, it’s fun… but people play ridiculous when there’s nothing out of their pockets on the line. Nothing worse than watching a donk win hand after hand on the river with shit hands like 5h Jc. Infuriates me. Bluffing is one thing, but playing reckless, stupid and without abandon is another thing altogether. I used to play with the Sin City Poker Tour. Competed to win $1,000 back in August. Got 14th place out of 115. shrugs
