I’ve played on it, the stick is maybe two fingers closer to the buttons than on the TE, making it feel kind of cramped, despite the fact that the face is like twice as wide. Otherwise, it’s nice, nothing inherently wrong with it.
thx for the heads up, man. So far, I’ve heard mostly favorable reviews from those lucky enough to own it or have tried it. Biggest complaint is the weight so far. I hear it’s about 2/3rds as heavy as the TE, though it looks hella bigger.
Thanks for your feedback, Mad Catz spokesperson. Actually dude, it’s not perfect. My second TE is starting to malfunction every now and then. I pretty much have to unplug/replug my stick in about every 15 minutes, otherwise one of the buttons will short out. I keep my stick in pretty good condition, at least I think I do. I don’t drop it or supertap the buttons. I mean, both of my sticks have several hundreds of hours of usage, so it might just be an issue with having used it so much. Anybody good at cleaning stick interiors with care? I’ve never even opened mine up before, so could it possibly be an issue of sweat residue, dirt, debris, etc. getting caught in the interior? I’ll pay somebody in cash or booze if they’re down to clean the interior lol… I don’t wanna do it myself in case I fuck something up.
Sweet! Thx dude. Not that buttons are expensive or anything, but if I don’t have to buy a new one, then I might as well just use one of the unused buttons. I could care less about the color scheme of my buttons, as long as they’re functional.
Oh yeah, that game I kept saying I was going to play but only put in my X-Box once since I bought it. That’s still a thing.
Pez, you know all you need for a button swap is a size 3 allen key (I got mine with a pre fab bookshelf at Wal-Mart) and something to pry the QDs off with.
I don’t know how comfortable you are with the whole process, but if I can do it, anybody can do it.
I honestly did it for my crappy SE after reading a bit earlier today (As an Adon player my mp is pretty beat up, so now my focus attack buttons are black :P). All I needed was a screwdriver…you just take the little things off and remove the button and then switch it. It took me like 10 - 15 minutes and everything works well…
