Oregon Roster & Discussion (info on the 1st page)

Lol Simon, that’s all I’ve heard about T6. Learn to punish whiffed launchers with your own launcher, learn your combos, win teh game.

i hear you, i havent touched any 3d fighters since i started playing on stick and trying to actually play well and it was mostly because of the how the juggles work/look but Tekken 6 looks so good i had to give it another shot. i was playing it all night yesterday at jermoie’s and i did end up liking some of the characters, now im interested to try VF cause it looks like its a bit less juggle focused but thats just my impression having watched but not really played it. either way T6 is pretty fun

edit: also, Panda would all the games be “cheap” or is it like buy 3 and get a deal on the 4th?

It’s buy two get the third free. So, between three new Tekken 6’s at $60 a pop, one free means we’d split $120 three ways, or $40 each.

I need to see what my friend is going to do, I might actually have enough people already, but it’s something to know about.

Looking to get back into fighting games

casual: marvel vs capcom 2, virtua fighter 5, all fighters, FPS

Can I kick it? I am up for hanging out if you want to play some xbox 360 and have a few beers. I have 48 games for it. I am old though (33) but I pretty much only play games when I am not working. I have no kids, and no family to bug anyone though…

BIO: I’VE BEEN AWAY FOR TOO LONG GUYS! I Started playing at Wunderland near the 75 bus line on MK2 and Street fighter 2 and never looked back. I can remember days getting there at opening and not leaving till they closed. Got into tekken tag, 3rd strike and street fighter alpha series at loyd center tilt. Can remember going to gateway Wunderland on first day VF3TB arrived on west coast. Sneaked into an arcade distributer shop in downtown portland to be the first to play Street fighter 3 and Tekken 3. Used to hang out with tilt crew playing Marvel VS at home on import saturn with the arcade joystick wires hanging through milk crates  My dream job would be to test games. Any advice/help with this would be a godsend as I lost a great job and now work for minimum wage. could care less about making money now. I just figured I should turn my obssesion into a way to make a living.

I am just coming back into scene so take it easy on me if this post is now out of place. feel free to add me to your xbox live friends list.

definitely not out of place man, beaverton isnt too far for downtown portland you should come out and play at jeromie’s house on saturdays.

man modern warfare 2 is giving me insomnia

Well, mon amis, I’m coming back to P-Town for Christmas break. It’s looking more and more likely that I’ll be coming back for good when I do. I’m quite saddened about the loss of Versis, but I won’t complain too much when a community can stay strong despite such a loss.

Kurt-ness, if I’m not on the roster, care to add me back in? I can update my profile if need be.

Hope you’re coming back under good circumstances, yo.

And if you do an updated profile I’ll make sure it gets back in. I’m thinking of doing a little restructuring to the thread, organizing players by area and maybes spoiler tagging stuff for ease of reading.

Spoiler tagging is a strong move in my book. I’ll do an updated profile and get it to you. If I come back at the end of the year, it’d be on good terms. It’s just a matter of deciding where I want to finish up my BS.

Competitive: It’s been a while, but I played SFIV fairly seriously, and I was bent on learning HDR and MvC2, too.
casual: I’ll play anything, but I have a fondness for VF5, SCIV, and GGX2. Also up for playing BB, any KoF, and 3S.
can I kick it? When I move back to Vancouver (could be as soon as Christmas break), I’ll initially be living at home and dependent on public transit. I won’t be able to host, but I’d be up for meets if I can get to and from them.

It’d just be spoiler tagging into seperate sections, allowing people to close the roster if they want and such just for sake of searching through the OP. Will try it in the next couple days and if it doesn’t fly they’re easy to remove.

Er… you posted before I finished my post edit. Oh well. There’s my profile. I can add/change something if need be.

You are officially one person too many and we broke the size limit  I’ll figure something out tomorrow I guess, might just have to delete all the bios from that post for the time being or split it between the first and second posts.

nice:tup: cant wait to see what you have in mind, and whats up kenny bout time you get on XBL lol.

I will be in Portland the saturday after thanksgiving. Is anything going down then at Ground Kontrol?

Also I haven’t been there in years, is there an ST cab?

I’d love to be on Live, but the internet here is absolute crap. Soon, though. I’ll be back, and I’ll suck terribad until I get back in the groove of things, but it’s gonna be good to be back to, fighting with, and repping the Northwest.

im not sure about GK(sucks being 20 sometimes) but Tsunamiken(jeromie) has people over at his house every saturday, the 1st page has some info on his place and how to contact him.

Last I checked, Ground Kontrol had an ST cab.

Whatchu talkin’ 'bout, Kurt? That’s where I met you. Stuff somethetimes happens when the place is all-ages.

I’m only getting dropped off downtown for a couple hours while my friend goes and does her CPA exam, so I can’t go to anyone’s house. I guess I’ll get dropped off at GK, hopefully some people are there to play some ST.

I think they changed their hours relatively recently to be over 21 earlier. Didn’t they used to be all ages until seven…? They kick out the youngin’s around 5pm now.

It’s been 5PM for as long as I’ve known it (which admittedly isn’t that long; my first time there was at Slugfest or whatever shortly after the release of SFIV).
