Yea, like i said it doesnt work against all backdashes. Like chun, rose, few others, the fast ones. It works on most of them though. In training mode, record fuerte doing the OS, then pick the char you want to test against as the main character. Try to escape it in various ways as the recording does it to you. Against some characters this OS is kinda useless, against some others it is extremely powerful.
If the character has a backdash that is too fast, or you don’t have ultra, you can OS low forward instead of the ultra into your slide and it’ll punish the backdash.
In order for this to work you have to time the slide so that it hits very meaty, toward the end of its active frames. A good timing aid, against most characters, if you tortilla throw them, then whiff RH guac, run back a touch, stop, slide, that’s the perfect timing. Timing varies somewhat character to character, so in training mode you have to re-record the fuerte dummy each time you change targets.
The targets that this is most effective on are the ones where the slide is completely safe or relatively safe. There are several characters whose reversals come out slow enough that if you time the slide right, you’ll be able to recover and block if they try to reverse it. Sakura, Viper, Gief(all he can do is ultra, super, and ex spd, you will recover and block green hand), several other ones. For viper, if you slide OS ultra right, then youll ultra her if she backdashes or ex seismo’s, and if she ex burn kicks or hp TK’s, she’ll fly past you and no ultra will come out(because your inputs will be crossed up), you can punish at your leisure. Against rufus, the only thing he can do about this is wake up ultra.
