This announcement this Ono has to make, does it matter? When is this Evo going to start because for all we know they are just going to add El Freute with vampire wings and some other cool characters like Rufus and stuff…

Uh, EVO is over. What kind of fighting game fan are you? :razzy:

That’s the damn truth.

This this this x100

I wish Ono’s team had the confidence to release a completely new, fresh Fighting Game Series. I always seem to say it here, but I love the new original characters they’ve added to the SF universe (Viper, Abel, Fuerte, Rufus, Juri) and feel it’d be awersome to set them loose, away from all the baggage of history and just make a completely new series from the ground up

From what I’ve understood, ASW wanted to release a revision for it, but couldn’t. Don’t know the exact reason

hmm i say just new sf4 characters maybe 5 more or maybe a new one every month :D, that would be pretty sick, i wouldn’t mind seeing rolento take on the ssf4 universe

Thank you for slapping me back to reality. I kinda figured the new contra game was the something and Daisuke was just trolling again. If they really do have something to reveal but didn’t show it at E3 -which would have been a god-tier hype generator-, then I guess that lends credit to the notion that they’re working on GGX3. The fear or revelation that announcing the game would destroy the BB scene forever is the only logical explanation that I can think of to justify the missed opportunity.

I’m leading towards capcom having the rights but didn’t see the revision worth the effort. To my knowledge, the game (rightfully) tanked and had no scene after a month.

SBX had potential. but the fact no one did any actual damn damage and most infinites consisted of literally being infinites due to low damage and timing out kinda looked funny and Stupid. Plus, I personally wanted to play with most of the assist characters.

I’m not even going to bother guessing what it is. The fact we have to wait until comic con kinda sucks enough. But that makes me worry it’s not going to be anything big. Hence why Ono doesn’t bother saying anything at EVO of fear of being booed/not enough fan reaction/whatever.

i’ll keep a little faith though.

Why doesn’t BB count?

Even disregarding that, we did get Battle Fantasia, Arcana Heart, and Senko no Ronde here. Sure, they all flopped, but they all had US releases.

Lol one moment people are riding SFIV’s cock up and down saying its the bestest and hypest shit ever and now people are saying its too based on nostalgia and namebrand recognition instead of finding its own way (duh) which is what the “haters” have been saying since the beginning.

I don’t understand you people.

Street Fighter Alpha 4?
Twitter / Yoshinori Ono: I’m earnestly making all n …
^New tweet from Ono @_@

"I’m earnestly making all necessary arrangements about release content of tip-off for SSFIV Panel at ComicCon!! "

What the hell does this even mean?

Such a game likely would likely be even more of a financial risk than even a new Darkstalkers would. That’s the reality that every fighting game team has to deal with now. I mean, really, if fan based appeal wasn’t such a big factor in what makes these games sell, then maybe we could get more original works from time to time. But that’s not the way things work out.

For example, if Bamco and CC2’s upcoming Naruto PS3/360 fighting game was based off an original IP, I’d definitely be much more excited for it. It looks to be a great game in every EXCEPT the fact that I couldn’t care less about the property that it focuses on. But such a game likely wouldn’t sell any where near the numbers it stands to get with the attached license. Tis a pity…

if the new naruto game is anything like the first, it will be a purely casual affair of mashing the same button over and over to perform attacks, combos etc

He’s excited/looking forward to the stuff he’ll show in the ComiCon that he says will top Super SF4…that or he just stated that new Super SF4 content/update will be shown in the ComiCon.

Street fighter Alpha 4 would actually be pretty damn good.

So now we know

  • It’s a new SF
  • Not related to Arcade SSF IV [We see 360 and ps3 controllers…]

Ono likes 3s, and also loves some of the Alpha characters [R. Mika & Rolento for example]

So it’s probably either a new Alpha or a SF3 revision [I’m really at a doubt that it’s SF V or anything, too early]

If it’s Alpha, I really really wonder if it’ll be more like A2 or A3. My bet? A3 like

I’m still hoping for Image Comics vs Bushido Blade

no versus threads!!!

All this talk about alpha and 3S as got me thinking it could be that theyre going to add EVERY other character from those games to make an all-in-one SF… Although that would be a shit load of characters.

if it meant seeing Karin again, I would actually care more for the SF4 series even though it’s garbage.
