Online Money Matches - Possibilities of the New System - DISCUSSION

As far as I can tell PR Rog basically just uses whatever money people donate to him for better streaming equipment.

it would need to be built into the game for it to be better… also implement something like if game drops below x frames per second its counted as a no contest (people would still take advantage of that but if you saw x amount of draws/DCs you would know to avoid them).

there are always going to be issues. you could just create a new account, scam 10 people then set up another one.

It has to run like online poker. That is turn based so you dont have all those issues. That being said, you should play that game if you want to play a game for a living and make reasonable money.

i think its a sick idea i would actually rather its just with fake money like poker stars or whatever and after you earn x amt of online dollars you could claim a small prize or something (maybe like some special status icons or new costumes/colours). of course there would have to be a small membership fee to support that. I would be into that, not sure if anyone else would though.

After reading the Ripoff Report denying withdrawls and the 12% commission / member fee… the chance that people are even going to be playing on it (what if no one wants to money match me?) i am a bit discouraged to try it out.

FGC is trying desperately to monetize itself somehow. Esports model will not work (too small of a fan base) so they are going for more of a poker-approach where you pay your own way to compete + sponsored players get their way paid, win or lose. We’ll see if they do any significant numbers in this field.

You can make money playing video games. Look at Cosmo, Sig, and other giant speed runners. They live off of streaming just from the ads, Donations, and subscriptions.

Make a living just from winning tournies? No. Fighters dont generate enough money to make that possible. If they streamed more they can probably make some nice coin though.

The more boradcaster there is, the less Twitch can give to each one.
Twitch revenues is considerably less in 2014 than it was in 2011/2012.

galaxy 4 gamers also hosted evo online.

It’s impossible for pro gamers to make a living off this, the player base on the website is too small and I doubt that it’s going to pick up and become popular. It’ll last for a few weeks and die off and be forgotten.

I personally like the idea and think it could be a lot of fun you carefully choose your opponents by considering location, but the player base will never reach the numbers where it will be enjoyable.

I have a job already. I certainly wouldn’t want to making a living by having ads plastered all over my shirts, streams/any thing I do and having to put some company’s name in front of mine whenever I played. Something about that just doesn’t sit well with me, I don’t want to be a billboard for corporations to advertise. I’d rather just make an honest living.
