hk slash to close the distance after a forward throw. You will get there in time to pressure / bait a reversal.
What situations are Oni’s SRKs to be used? For instance, with Ken M.srk is best used as anti air and H.srk is best used to end combo with. Does Oni have similar uses for his different SRKs? If so, can someone please explain to me. Also, is there a link to the damage and stun output of his moves somebody could provide me. Thank you, in advance, for any and all replies!
PS which of his attacks force stand, are special cancelable, etc?
Asking for a good bit here I know. So, again, thanks for linking me to the right places or taking the time to tap out a response.
if they are neutral jumping lp dp is the way to go. you get the f+hk juggle afterward. if they are jumping in hp dp all the way. for a combo ender i go with hp dp. the only normal i know of that forces standing is cr. hp
What is oni on block and hit after a light slash Fadc?
Sorry to ask again but, could someone please tell me which of Oni’s moves are special cancelable? Also, what move(s) should be used for karas? Thank you, in advance, for any and all replies!
1-What is the trick to perform Kara f+MK to Raging Demon ?? Especially for pad players ??
2- in 00:54 :
How did he knew that the st.LK is CH ?? I don’t he sacrifice 2 bars without good reason …
Can’t reply to 1, but as far as 2 is concerned, st.LK > fireball is a fairly safestring and he simply FADC’d because he realised Sako hadn’t blocked it
I would need someone to confirm this because my math may be completely wrong but if it is correct, he’s +4 on block and +7 on hit.
http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Super_Street_Fighter_IV_AE/Oni <-- info on cancels there
S.hk is his best standing kara throw. For super karas, f.mk, f.mp, and f.hk are useful.
Is there some trick I am missing with Oni when it comes to FADC into slash to extend combos? I can hit it probably 1 out of 3 times and it feels almost random. I’m sure my execution is anything but flawless but I’ve been working on it long enough to feel like there is something I am missing to make it more consistent (something along the lines of timing or plinking or something). I watch guys who play Oni in tournament and they pull off some incredibly hard combos pretty consistently and the timing just feels too tight with how I am doing it to ever be as consistent as say Sanford has been with his combos. I’ve rarely ever seen him drop an extended Oni combo.
If you can record yourself attempting the combos that’d be the fastest and easiest way to help, but if you can’t then you’ll just have to explain more clearly. Are you having problems with getting the focus cancel down, dashing quickly enough to link, the links themselves?
If you have a hard time connecting anything after the fadc try either using jab or plinking cr.mp. Also using insert combo xx fireball fadc leaves you with more frame advantage. I think the timing for cr.mp can be tough but not enough that a little practice won’t help.
Actually I figured out my problem. I was trying to dash too early and sometimes it would buffer but come out late and sometime it just wouldn’t come out. I started trying to speed everything up but only start the dash right before I connected with a slash as opposed to when the slash starts. I’m still not perfect with it but I can now do it quite a few times in a row and at one point I did 10 in a row. The window is just so damn small and I’ve yet to do any PLINK research on Oni.
You can just do standing jab into TC2 instead of trying to go straight into TC2 from the dash. That gives you an extra 2 frames to make the link from the dash and then the link to TC2 is still pretty lenient.
For some reason I’m having an extremely difficult time with point blank DP fadc into ultra 2. I appear to dash under the opponent for a moment and it screws up my input. Anyone else experience this? It might be character specific, since I don’t always have this issue (I’m using mirror Oni).
Edit: It’s definitely much easier on other characters. On Oni (and presumably some other chars) I can only get it like one out of 5 times because you cross him under.
Having a hard time finding videos/examples of oni safe jumps. Can someone point me in the right direction?
Hmm, this thread seems a bit dead, but I’ll give this a shot.
One thing I haven’t really seen mentioned is FADCing Oni’s SRK into, say, Ultra 1. Executionally it’s kinda tough, but it seems like a pretty good way to hit an Ultra, yet I don’t really see anyone talking much about it. Is it something any of you guys are using at all, or not so much?
Not really much to talk about, except that he can’t FADC SRK on block so you see less of it than, say, Ryu’s SRK FADC Ultra. If you want to spend the ultra meter for max damage then it’s a good option though. It’s not much more difficult than most FADC Ultras, even with U2 and half circles. I’ll use it if I want to close out the round or at least get really close, and if I noticed I have 4 bars and full ultra I’ll use 2 bars for the FADC into Ultra and save the other 2 for a Slash FADC combo.
