Oni Akuma videos

Guys, are we sure this Oni is Akuma? I thought that the Capcom developers had designed Gouki to be aligned with the Japanese God of Wind Fujin and his brother Gouken was supposedly aligned with the God of Lightning Raijin. Proof of this was delivered when their first Alt costumes were released. Further proof came in Super where Gouki’s U2 is a wind based attack (Demon Armaggedon starts with a whirlwind hurricane kick) while Gouken’s is based on lightning (Denjin Hadouken).

If anything, I believe that Oni is actually Gouken corrupted, not Gouki; his aura looks like lightning. His projectiles are lightning based. And his moveset has more in common with Gouken’s that Gouki’s.

Or, could this be a fusion of Gouki and Gouken’s powers? I’d like to know how Capcom will explain his background. Also interesting, Evil Ryu used to be a manifestation of the Satsui No Hadou powers laying dormant in Ryu (his murderous intent), but this Evil Ryu looks like he got taken over by the dark hadou because he was killed (gaping hole through his chest??)… Another interesting story awaits here too, I’m sure.

Well Venom I can assure you that Oni is not Gouken…what tells me Oni isnt Gouken is simply the face. The face is Akuma hands down and so does the hair…It aint a fusion cause it was akuma who absorbs Orochi’s power if Im correct not Gouken.

First game, I haven’t stopped or looked again to confirm or count anything but: Evil Ryu basicly rushed him into the corner with combos, frame traps counter hits, strings and stuff and barely let up. KO’d Oni before he got to dizzy.

Actually, in the video where he landed it he was looking for a JR jump-at-them Demon (hoping they didn’t AA) and unexpectedly started it in the air; Evil Ryu did actually AA at this point and got grabbed out of his fierce uppercut.

Actually no joking about “top tier” Oni damage is high and he has more options than regular akuma with what I saw with the few vids posted and we havent even confirm how many priorities Oni has and I bet he has alot. and BTw theres 2 vids of Oni doing a Super Demon in the air one was the one u was talking and the other the opponent jump in the air either way with the air back dash n a super air demon makes him pretty hard to AA him.

I can see e.ryu being high tier, near normal ryu level. I actually do wanna try him out, he has akumas combos sans some of his options, but a comboable u1/u2. Oni…i dunno, until maybe japan gets to these chars to try em out

so far Oni seems like a gimmick character with decent normals. He has no escape options but he has a ton of different normals and nice air gimmicks with his ultra/dashes/misogi thingy etc etc.

for one pressure then with his jumping punch that goes straight down(dont know the name) eliminates or atleast trade with sims AA(knee) you obviously forgot about that Gouken look alike sliding palm and Oni has a really good FB it can go short or far…anymore? and thats without playing him and actually have some training time with him also Oni focus attack has some distance and looks pretty good.

Well apparently, you’re good enough at spotting potential early to see Goukens limitations coming, yet it’s not the same in Oni’s case.

If you’re gonna tout something for top tier or banning material, you’re gonna have to see enough potential for winning/dominating most of the match-ups in the game… otherwise, you’d just be talking random nonsensical smack with no decent foundation… right?

As an Akuma player does anyone else feel insulted by these characters. This is a bit of a heated response/reaction I had after seeing these characters and some of the things they could and couldn’t do and idk here’s my kneejerk but as I say and have stated, as an Akuma player I feel insulted by there inclusion but still feel that Akuma is better than both of them.

I think a lot of us feel this way. This is the first thing that ran through my mind since I saw these two retarded characters in action. They probably won’t end up being as good as Akuma, but I just don’t see why they bothered making these characters. Instead just give Akuma the stuff he should have had from the beginning.
