I grew up playing SF2 and loved it, then after getting into competetive FGs and taking another look at SF2 years later I found that I don’t like SF2 played competetively. Go figure.
For the most past, every one of my mains in a fighting game have a command throw and are the big/slow heavy hitting type.
I like to block with my face. Playing SF4 made me realize that I do not like to block. My defense is my offense. But after getting trounced 1-40 in player matches I have since changed my ways.
I have a different main depending on which version of SF2 I’m playing. Love to tick throw and to rush down; even if my character wasn’t meant to be played that way.
I’m not that good with rushing down so I usually stick with defensive characters or ones that can be played either way.
I don’t really like long combos because I find myself screwing them up in a real match.
I love finishing matches with grabs.
I can’t play characters that I don’t find to be good looking. I don’t like playing female characters either, with the exception of King (KOF).
I’m not gay, just fyi.
I am terrible with characters that require any types of circular motion, which is why I play lots of charging characters.
But being a very offensive minded player, my game play + charging characters = slight contradiction. Hard to be completely offensive with chargers.
I was never able to play a grappler. I always picked characters that were easy to pick up and play, and then I would go from there. I’m the turtling type too; I’ll usually block until I can find an opening and punish my opponent for it.
I was a flowchart ken untill SF4 came out and I started maining Abel
Is there a reason for that?
SSBM will never ever get old to me.
I used to c.hk a lot in 3S with Ken and not get punished for it most of the time.
I picked up Fei Long because I admire Bruce Lee.
For about 15 of the almost 20 years I’ve been playing fighting games I didn’t know there were FG scenes, people who could play on a stick, or even such a thing as strategy.
I always pick my main before I even play the game. I usually end up with someone good too.
i have never picked ken.
I played marvel for 7 years and never learned to ROM.
shotos are boring to me
i play who i like
i will find a use for every one of my normals.
I used to believe (and still do) that roll-cancelling in CVS2 is complete and utter bullcrap. Yea, i know i’m a scrub but i’d die and go to hell before spending A LOT of time mastering the timing on that at the arcade just so that i can be on par with those who do use it.
I practice combos all night long and then forget how to do them in a match then remember how to do them again after I go back to training mode.
I also plays characters the opposite of how they are SUPPOSED to be played.
i pertend im at evo when i play fighting games
