My theory is that Blackbeard coerced the âDevilâ in Whitebeardâs corpse out, since Teachâs power has seniority over the other fruits the entity residing in Whitebeard responds by inhabiting Marshallâs vacuous body.
The Darkness power allows him to contain the âdevilâ within the void without it interfering with his primary ability, otherwise Blackbeard wouldâve exploded as explained by the CP9.

I really want to know what Marco means by saying that Blackbeardâs body structure is different. Makes me think heâs not just talking about the Yami Yami fruit.
Maybe something to do with his body being able to withstand two Devil Fruits. We donât even know enough about the Yami Yami Fruit yet either. Knowing Oda, he probably gave it some other secretive abilities that isnât just related to darkness.
From what I understand, Yami Yami fruit is a basically darkness, like a âvoidâ kinda like a black hole. From what White Shadow is trying to explain, at least how Iâm understanding it, is that somehow he absorbed the Gura Gura no mi into that so called âvoidâ thats inside his body due to the Yami fruit, my hypothesis is that the Gura no mi is intertwined with is darkness fruit, combined with weird ass body, he can use both DFâs. Fucking Blackbeard did his HW.
