My favorite moment reading through the entire war was when Ace knelt in front of Whitebeard in sincerest reverence while their space was separated by a ring of flames. It is still my favorite moment even when animated.
Luffy’s voice actor is truly a master of capturing the pain and utter anguish he was feeling.

Yeah Luffy took it hard, and understandably so. He literally gave EVERYTHING to make it this far, the only thing driving him on was his will. Once Ace died all the damage and mental will drained at once and it was too much for him to bear.
im still interested to see the repercussions of what happened to him mentally. we’ve never seen him like that ever.
I think he fully recovered mentally, but I know there’s still a deep-seeded rage for the man responsible behind Ace’s death. I can’t wait for that day when they meet again.

Btw did anyone else notice the feather that came of one of the birds landed on Luffy.
When Whitebeard was attacked by the Blackbeard pirates, I loved how they kept the whole scene black and white (would’ve liked better music though).
