One Piece Thread: Gear 2nd!

Both places I would be killed onsite by either A Boa Hancock, or B some lame cockblocking ugly as Sin Fishmen

I just wonder what other pirate crews did to make it to and through Fishman Island. Like did Shanks/Whitebeard/Roger go balls to walls crazy when they were there or was it all business? And how did they make it through the bubble layers witho Coup de Burst to help them?

I know Shanks is a party animal so I just think he would have a buncha fun!

I don’t think Coup de Burst was necessary to get through, especially since Hammond and co. kind of implied that they entered ā€œthe wrong wayā€.

I rather liked this chapter, though I don’t like the crew getting split again soon (on top of considering it just happened for a brief time two chapters ago). I’m hoping the other five are with the ship too because if they have to find their ship…

Speaking of them getting separated, this is the first time that Robin’s hit the water, right? Because initially I was thinking that Sanji was referring to Caribou when talked about ā€œfour usersā€. However, now I also remember that Sanji wasn’t even on the ship when Caribou got crate-and-barreled.

Nice chapter as always, happened somewhat like I predicted. They said FU to the fishman in front and did a coup de burst straight into the city. I didn’t expect for their bubble to pop and for them to drown then get separated though. Nice to see caimie again and did Sanji go gay or something? Dude has been in okama hell for two years and is now surrounded by mermaids but is holding back.

I can’t wait for what the title of the next saga will be, I doubt we’re in the post-war arc still and I don’t think they’ll include this fishman island arc in the whitebeard war saga. I’m calling it now this shall be a saga about the supa novas (or blackbeard).

It was said earlier that Sanji’s holding back because he can’t believe it’s real, like he believes it’s a dream or he’s somewhat afraid that the mermaids will turn out to be men underneath.

That and probably to keep from bleeding to death.

BJ heaven.

This is probably the terrible truth, he might be broken for life after 2 years of okama tricks.

In regards to Arlong, I did forget that Arlong went into ā€˜bestial’ mode after seeing what the Strawhats were capable of, especially Zoro. I still think he’s stronger than he’s given credit. I don’t think everyone was too messed up after tangling with Don Krieg’s crew outside of Zoro though, considering they got to rest (and for Luffy, eat to his heart’s content) before Nami took off with the Merry.
However, reading back through the arc again, Arlong was basically fucked the moment Luffy woke up, saw Nami crying in the middle of town, and put his hat on her head.
You just don’t mess with the people in that man’s crew…

As far as Fishman Island’s Mermaids vs. Amazon Lily’s Amazons, well, only someone with Luffy’s swag could survive for more than a day on Amazon Lily, so I’d probably have to go with the Mermaids. Besides, they seem to like human males anyway judging by their reactions to Luffy and co.

It is the same way that Shanks and Buggy started off on the same crew, same position and are drastically different in power today.

Arlong might have been Jimbei’s number 2 at one point, but he was probably weaker and never learned haki when he split off on his own. He acted more like a schemer then fighter and he was probably more of the brains to Jimbei’s muscle.

Eh, never could understand the whole mermaid appeal. They have the lower half of a FISH. Have you ever held a fish? You can seriously cut yourself on those scales not to mention the fishy smell. I bet they are cold as well and like mentioned before, they don’t have a vagina or ass! All these factors add up to one big deal breaker.
It reminds me of that episode of Futurama when Fry falls in love with a mermaid, but is horrified when he discovers the anatomical incompatibility between them.

So if I had a choice between the Amazons and Mermaids, I’d go with the Amazons… wait… considering how they reacted to Luffy’s penis, I may have to check the ā€œnone of the aboveā€ box since my junk isn’t made out of rubber.

Damn this is cool!

R.I.P.

omg that’s great and yet it makes me sad :frowning:

Aarlong was nothing more than a bully. All he did was terrorize and exploit a bunch of scared human peasants. I would love to see him try that shit on Amazon Lilly. Even if he did realize his dream and mapped the entire world, he would’ve gotten his shit promptly pushed in by one of the hundreds of stronger pirate crews out there.

I’m 100% sure that this new guy is stronger than Arlong, but he might have Arlong’s personality. When shit starts to crumble, he’ll do anything it takes to keep his dream alive…even destroying Fishermen Island.

Dude wouldn’t have got past Don Krieg on some real shit. Smoker would have got wind of whats going down and would have put his ass in jail in minutes.

OH SHIII-

That is why he is a schemer, dude went from the Grand Line to the weakest of the seas in East Blue and barely extended outside of Nami’s island for over a decade. He knew that in the real sense of things, he wasn’t strong enough and tried like hell via Nami’s maps and money to gain power. He probably wouldn’t have succeeded, but that is what the East Blue seemed to be meant for before Luffy came out of it, a place weak pirates go to hide/die/scheme/vacation.

WHOLLY MOLEY!!!

Although I think they shrunk the right fist. Still, crazy, I never expected them to make a statue of THAT scene.

Why are people assuming Jinbe might be dead? Was there some foreshadowing that I read that I simply overlooked? As for the strength of pirates Luffy has faced, east blue was definitely the weakest. He took out Buggy, Kuro, Don Krieg and Arlong. None of them even register to the opponents that Luffy is facing now. Hell, the toughest opponent Luffy fought in east blue was Smoker who he was going to lose to if daddy didn’t come to the rescue. Also I feel that everyone underestimates the strength of Crocodile. If Luffy didn’t discover his weakness to water he would have never won, don’t forget Luffy did get his ass whooped twice by him in a row before finally winning.

Jinbe’s overall absence from the very island he sought to protect with-his-life as well as the lack of mention from his fellow fishmen seems odd. I for one don’t think he’s dead but something has definitely happened to him.

No one really sees Croco-boy as weak, in fact he was Luffy’s first real villian as far as the series go. Luffy was lucky, very lucky, and if it wasn’t for Robin the series would’ve ended right there.

SNOO SNOO…the mind is willing but the body is weak…
