I wondered this too when I saw it in some earlier translations.
His name in Japanese is actually written as Iwankofu (???), but the official romanization is Ivankov. He has kind of a pun-ish name where “Iwa” is Japanese for “stone” or “boulder” and the nick-name for one of Oda’s friends who is also a crossdresser (same guy who voices him in the anime) which was rendered into something that looks like the Russian name Ivanov. So “Iwa” is the literal translation, just not the official one.

I think Oda want us to think that it’s Aokiji because he’s respectable, but most likely it’s Akainu.
Luffy looks more mature, but only slightly, Oda has done something subtle to make him look older without him losing his “Luffyness”

I don’t think Raftel is a place you can simply just dock outside the range of, there are probably really weird and exotic means to get there- hence why I believe only Roger made it there. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in another dimension or something similar.
Blackbeard is probably a Yonkou who lives in world of supreme oligarchy with pirate servants who guard his territories under his name. Less organized though. lol
Luffy, Zorro, Sanji & Robin have been trained by some of the most power pirates of the old age i can’t wait to see how much powerful they have gotten.
I wonder if that was done on purpose, to show while Luffy is obviously something of a idiot hero, he isn’t so dumb to agree to marry a woman just to get food like Goku.

Yeah, Akainu is definitely the Fleet Admiral. His achievements alone will get him the position. After all, their morale had plummeted pre, during, and post WB war, and I doubt easy-going Ao Kiji would be the one to fix that.

I think Akainu isn’t the Fleet Admiral solely because he displayed the power to take on Whitebeard,2 of strongest division captains in WB’s crew and took an ass beating from from Crackerbeard himself and still got up to blow half his face off. He is better suited on the battlefield than off behind a desk.
im waiting to see how strong Sanji has gotten. i think chopper will still be weak as hell and be the crew’s weak leg (except for being a mediocre doctor). but im interested to see what mihawk and zoro said to each other before parting ways. i mean what the hell could zoro say? "thanks for training me but next time we meet i’ll have to kill you? i think mihawk dug his own grave with that move. them straw hat imposters need to be taken out asap. im kinda hoping captain kid gets his hands on them and tortures them cause luffy is most likely gonna shrug that shit off and keep it moving.

I mean Akainu was a little more lax, but we haven’t seen anything illustrating them as being on diferent power levels…logia users…with top tier versions of the type (lava verse fire, ice verse water, lasers verse…ugh … exactly)
I’m more interested in seeing how Coby has trained up…as well as wtf the supernova’s are actually about…you guys seem kinda ‘amped’ by them, yet short of laughable “Guard #6” type of fight…they haven’t really done squat.

Yeah, Akainu is definitely the front runner for Fleet Admiral. Unless we’ve not seen the full extent to Kizaru’s personality, I can’t think of anyone so crazy as to try to move Marine HQ into the New World just to have it poised to face the Yonkou and the Supernovas.
Also, anyone thinking that Smoker by now has become either a Vice or full blown Admiral by now?
And something occurred to me, the scar Luffy now sports might actually just be from his fights at Marineford. Most of the battle we saw Luffy take more then a few shots to the body, along with a strike from the mohawk sporting Vice Admiral that picked up Hancock, that bit where Aokiji got him and when Akainu burned right through Jimbei to graze Luffy. Afterward he was bandaged up like crazy, I’m think that will be the story behind Luffy’s scars.
Zoro’s however, just may go to say how rough of a teacher Mihawk is.
Naw…for al lthe training Zorro went thru…the student is never greater tha nthe teacher until them themselves have become the teacher…Zoro isn’t Mihawk tier…yet. More than likely I have a feeling he took in an undersanding of Haki and channeling it into his weapons better…so he can ‘cut metal’ :lmao:
