Animation and mood of the episode were good but it’s again way too slow and overdramatized. They need to step it up a notch but then again I rather get this than fillers.

Ive been telling my friends this for so long now…maybe dragon(luffy’s dad) is a fucking DRAGON.
Ive always thought dragon controls the weather of some sort. But have you guys seen when the dragon comes down in dbz and all crazy weather happens…quote me on that.

I posted this in the previous thread, but it seems like Oda based Dragon’s character from the Dragon King of the East Sea, from Chinese mythology (i.e., stories like Journey to the West). This dragon could control weather, and Dragon from One Piece is from East Blue, and seems to have some sort of weather powers.
Or perhaps the initial D means “Dragon”, and that everyone with that initial are descendants of some sort of draconic race, which would be in-line with what some people here have said with the D people being a different race. Maybe there was some sort of rivalry between this race and the Tenryubito (Celestial Dragons).

If you remember the Sabo flashback, it seems like Dragon was some sort of noble before becoming a revolutionary.
There are too many mysteries behind Dragon , I hope Oda decides to slowly reveal his past.
As far as for controlling weather I think it may be possible, like in the past at lougetown what are the odds of :
- Lighting only hitting buggy before he was gonna kill Luffy
- That wind that blew right after he saved Luffy from Smoker.
The way they depicted the aftermath of those whistling meteor fists was horrifying! A literal hell on earth!
D definitely means something else. Having the name Monkey Dragon Dragon would be a little redundant, wouldn’t it?
The theory that Dragon could be in fact, a literal Mystic Dragon with weather powers seems plausible, amazing if true, but plausible.
Seeing how Dragon is Garp’s son, I find it unlikely, BUT! It could be on his mother’s side. Garp going after that noble tang seems hella random .
I have a strange feeling the nobles are aware of the D history though.
As for Teach being a fake D, I highly doubt it. When Whitebeard mentioned him being “not like the others” it was more to reinforce the fact that he’s bizarro D rather than a fake D.
If he was a fake D he wouldn’t have natural D traits and would probably take pride in his false heritage. However he has never mentioned being a D, the only reason why we even know he’s a D is because of the intro title.
Right now, I wonder more on how Teach got Whitebeard’s fruit. I think it has to do with that huge black sheet his crew used, maybe it gives Teach the ability to make his whole body into darkness and absorb whatever is under it.
He is a living void, that bypasses the normal consequence of being exploded by 2 devils inhabiting the same body.
The real question is how did he coax the Devil out of Whitebeard’s body into his? Maybe the fact that the devil knows that it is stuck in an inert body so it gets convinced to come over into Teach’s?
I always thought that when people eat the devil fruit, it goes into the bloodstream and actually becomes part of their DNA. So maybe Teach has the ability to “empty” his body and just store the devil fruit in his body and just basically taps into it to use its power.
It was pretty much confirmed through World Gov scientists that there is an actual devil inhabiting the each of the fruits and are responsible for giving the powers.
