Did Ace know haki? I don’t remember it ever being shown.
He’s never really showed any Haki usage besides Conqueror’s Haki, but it’s assumed he knew some since he was a commander in Whitebeards crew and I doubt he would be one if he didn’t know some Haki.
I don’t recall Ace using Conqueror’s Haki in the manga, but I skipped the backstory with him and Sabo so he could have used it then if it were a manga and not just anime only.
As for assuming he knew it, that’s just some bullshit. Either he showed the he used it or he didn’t. I don’t make assumptions.
He said he did, and thinking about how he moved at times, it seemed as though there was some level of observation haki, but we never had visual confirmation that I can think of.
- :bluu:
If anything he was probably adept in Observation Haki and just sucked in Armament Haki it’s why from the looks of it he didn’t bother with it during the BB fight.
Ok, after reading it a couple of times, here are my short thoughts:
[List]
[*]Sabo is a fucking beast with that Dragon Claw technique of his! Also, I can tell that he’s showing a very dark side of himself in the fight. God, I’m loving this guy more and more!
[*]Bastille, you suck ass. Nuff’ said.
[*]What the hell, Fuji!? Seriously, my respect for this guy went down by 50 points because of stupid crap he pulled without thinking. It makes me wonder why he’s even an admiral. -_-
[*]Seeing the coliseum fighters constantly giving Luffy backup is just awesome. Nothing much else to say here.
[*]It’s a little hilarious to see Law yelling at Luffy to go get the keys to his seastone handcuffs before heading to Doflamingo with Luffy keep telling him that things will work out just fine and wouldn’t ya know it; Robin calls them to tell them that Viola found the keys, which shocks Law quite a bit. This just goes to show how much faith Luffy has in his crew and allies. Hehe
[*]Luffy takes a shortcut only to find a dead end and who just so happens to be behind them at that moment? Why its none other than Doflamingo (or possibly a puppet clone of him).

Overall, this was a solid chapter.
One piece needs scared straight at impel down.
More like Scared Shitless…
I’m still not even sure how Doflo survived that beheading and somehow made a clone puppet of himself.
Ace was a straight up lazy punk. Dude got a hold of the mera mera fruit early and he coasted on his DF and whatever power he inherited from the “will of D” ever since. Dude obviously neglected his haki training which eventually led him to getting his ass kicked by BB and eventually getting killed.
Meanwhile you have Sabo who probably under went all sorts of hellish training to become a serious bad ass under Dragon and his crew and became Number two with NO devil fruit powers and no funky D. abilities (whatever the hell that is anyway)
I’m actually curious to see who trained Sabo. Maybe it was Dragon himself??
I wouldn’t expect anything less from the son of Garp… the dude has a habit of training kids to be bad asses with his “fists of Love” training regiment.
“Will of D” Just seems to mean the dude with a D in his name is a happy go lucky person who tends to make big waves.
Since every D seems to constantly smile and laugh and they’ve all been in the middle or the cause of a big event.
Also don’t downplay BB.
Anyone who can give Shanks a nasty scar when he had both arms is no slouch.
He used it in the backstory of the manga and anime. Haki was intentionally left ambiguous for much of the series, and seeing how Ace is a high ranking member of the most powerful pirate group in the world, and survived for years as a leader, saying he had no ability to use haki is hard to fathom. Especially with its ubiquity in the New World.
But assuming he knows how to use it but we never saw it is equally as silly.
It has been stated that every marine Vice Admiral and up can use some form of haki. Although we’ve never seen all of them use it we can assume that they know it because of the information that has been provided.
And although it hasn’t been explicitly stated that Ace can use haki, his situation is very similar to that of the Marines.
I’d go into more detail as to why but I’m in a rush right now.
Vice admirals really fluctuate in strength. Its ridiculous.
There are some that luffy could beat pre-timeskip, then theres vergo and garp. I am sure that there are more Vice admirals like Vergo in the new world too, but there are too many weak ones. Sabo is really embarrassing this nigga

I am actually convinced that BB is going to kill Shanks and Benn Beckman by the end. Shiryu might take out Mihawk too. The power scales in the new world have been all fucked up with the new pirates heading there so it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if some of the Yonko are takin out by “The Worst Generation” (how this generation is worst than the fucking Pirate king, prime whitebeard, shiki, and don chinjao splitting continents is anyone’s fucking guess)
Big Mom and Kaido are going to die soon, either at the hands of Monky D. Luffy, Basil Hawkins, or Captain Kid. Drake might also do some damage and Jewlrey Bonney may do some herself. Capone and Scratchman are either going to get absorbed into other crews or stay mid tier forever.
I am praying, hoping, PLEADING for the Revolutionary army and the Strawhat pirates to team up, because I wanna see some Zoro/Sabo, Luffy/Sabo, Sanji/Sabo, Koala/Nami/Robin fighting.
I am also hoping for one of these niggas to get Dragon on the fucking phone so Luffy and Dragon could talk for the first time in over 10 years. (those like, 2 words they said to eachother at Loguetown?)
Vergo and Garp are outliers.
Vergo was a mole working for the most dangerous and connected pirate we’ve seen thus far. Garp is GARP THE MOTHERFUCKING FIST… He should have been promoted to Admiral seven times over.
By that same token, Sabo is super nice with it. Son survived GETTING BLOWN UP, and was trained by “the Most Dangerous Man in the World,” Monkey D. Dragon… He was already gdlk, and then he ATE A LOGIA DEVIL FRUIT… Considering how dangerous even a random scrub logia like Caribou was, just think what happens when a battle-hardened Revolutionary with an axe to grind against the government for murdering his brother can do with FIRE POWERS…
…and he’s fighting A BLIND NIGGA SAMURAI WHO CASUALLY DROPS METEORS.… Yeah, the power scale in this fight is all fucked up…
Bastille never had a chance… and that was before Sabo ate the Mera Mera no Mi.
Garp was promoted like a thousand times.
He refused every single time.
He saw being an Admiral too restricting so he stayed Vice-Admiral.
Also, Garp and Sengoku could body just about everyone besides Whitebeard and maybe a select few others.
I doubt Mihawk will die to Shiryu, but I can see Shanks dying to Blackbeard sometime in the future.
I really see Negrobeard killing Shanks as well, been envisioning it ever since Teach’s meteoric rise to power. Shiryuu may be a better swordsman now, but he definitely ain’t approaching Mihawk level.
As for the Vice Admirals, the power varies, but we can pretty much assume it depends on what sea they’re charting. Garp is definitely an extreme outlier.
In the war Luffy faced 2 Rokushiki Zoan Vice Admirals who were able to do some real work to Luffy even in Gear Second form, while Luffy one-shotted a giant VA a few chapters prior.
Coby is probably a tier above most VAs at this point as well. I really want to see his inverted Rokushiki style in full form.
Ranken and Shikyaku are boss techniques. A fight with Sabo would look quite nice.
I came across this so called “theory” that Dragon was formerly a marine. What do you guys think?

Highly probable, we have seen that Garp tried to train both Ace and Luffy to be Marines, he didn’t do a good job at it but he tried. I can see him probably pushing Dragon towards it, only for Dragon to find out how corrupt the World Government is then bounce toward creating or just taking over the Revolutionaries.
