Pffffhahahaha. I’ll give it to Oda. I did not see that one coming.
[details=Spoiler]That’s SUCH an Usopp way of defeating someone.
The animators’re gonna have a field day with those last two pages.
Now, much as I’d like to complain about EVEN MORE flashback, what made it worth it was the effect of Sugar’s toy-power. Kyros getting turned into a toy also effectively killed his wife (who’s nearly ten years younger than him. Sheesh!)
Also, Kyros’ “I can’t look at my daughter without bawling” cryface.[/details]
[details=Spoiler]I don’t even understand what Usopp did. Did he scare sugar to KO or did he spit the tobasco in her mouth? Someone fill me in :’(
Other than that, glad they cleared up the history of all the Dressrosans.
Also kinda tight at how badly Franky got bodied I was hoping he’d be the next to join the 3 beasts if Kinemon doesn’t step up but we all know whats going to happen as Sugar goes down.

[details=Spoiler]I thought at first Usoop spat out one of his plants and it wrapped around sugar.
Then I realized Usoop startled her to the point, that she was shitting bricks.[/details]
Hey. Freaking FRANKY lost against two of Doflo’s crew You expected Usopp to win against a superfast, strong Logia-ish guy that beat down an army of superfast critters? I’m sure he could take on Sugar alone (though her army of toys would give him pause), but you weren’t seriously expecting him to win the fight?
It’s boring if the good guys always win every single versus fight. And no, the obligatory “big bad smacks around the weaker members” bit doesn’t count.
he powered up compared to before, but if you guys are thinking that he’ll suddenly start owning people then you’re being delusional. Same with Robin. They’ll be good for beating no name fodders. But they’ll never beat a big named opponent.
Yeah its boring when the good guys always win. It’s also boring when the same good guys are always the losers. I wish he had a more honorable ‘victory’ than this.
This chapter actually felt like it was 2 chapters combined, with the change of pace.
Such a flood of different emotions…
[details=Spoiler]The anguish felt by Kyros as a toy soldier holding his dying wife in her arms and even worse, having her forget everything about him was quite palpable.
Franky being off-screened owned made sense even if it was a tad disappointing. It’s a good way to reaffirm Dofla’s crew being a threat without wasting an entire chapter to show the outcome.
I knew Ussop was going to be captured, but I thought he’d use his head and plant a seed on Sugar Kurama style, or that when she shoved the tatababasco in his mouth he’d spit it back into her mouth reflexively. Oh well…
[/details]
Instead of concentrating how it happened, we should really be focusing on the consequences. Because a shitstorm is coming, and Doflamingo is going to be pissed to all hell. Oh the beautiful mayhem…
And either way, what about this guy when he turns back?
EDIT: The more I think about this, the more nightmare fuel it is. If all the stuffing wasn’t replaced, what then? Yeah, you’re happy you got turned back, but your arm is missing some insides.
I just realized Dellinger was in the crowd when Franky was lying defeated on the ground. Franky definitely had no chance of winning. His job was primarily stalling anyways, so tips hat
