Three-episode filler arc just ended in the anime, so they’re headed into Dressrosa. Not a terrible bit of filler, honestly… Props go to the Dugong voice actor, 'cause he/she actually put some good emotion into what’s basically squealing and screaming wordlessly.

What I’m curious about though, he seems to be another character fleshed out more than ‘filler’, but I don’t anticipate him being an antagonist beyond this arc, especially the kind of ‘feels’ he has against Luffy. So I’m just wondering how he’ll play out in the overall scheme of things. Is he going to come back this arc - PO’d? Or somewhere down the line…

Slight bit of a summary chapter, here, other than the revelation about Cavendish. I guess it’s not terribly surprising that Rebecca won, just so we’ll have SOMEONE we care about in the finals. They would’ve had to find something for her to do anyway.
Interesting that the otherwise crazy-prepared Batman-gambiting Doflo doesn’t even seem to be accounting for the possibility of a “dwarf” uprising.[/details]

Considering that he was supposed to inherit the “Heart” title out of Dofla’s group makes it too neat to be a coincidence. Why lock him up in a chair in the first place? Why didn’t former king get locked up in a similar way? The symbolism was clearly intentional by Doflamingo.
I think the Marine said that not only is he aware of it, he likes it because it brings him fame.

Just before the Dressrosa arc (or sometime during) he specifically said he was “saving the Heart chair” for Law. So Heart chair is where he sits. So yeah, pretty obvious.
To add to the “Heart” discussion, Law is Captain of the Heart Pirates as well…

Doflamingo has been pretty on point in guessing what Law and the Alliance were going to do next, but the x aka the unknown factor is what he and Crocodile could never factor in. Doflamingo may have more cunning, power, and resources, but now these oversights are going to bite him in the ass in a few chapters. Truth is, with the Marines, his men, and an Admiral backing him up, he still technically has the advantage… heh…
The Strawhats remind me of how Pokebattling works. You can have the most OP team and still lose to hax and not planning for that Glare/Rockslide Dunsparce (aka Enel arc).

Thing is Luffy has an ace in the hole with Sabo the Revs and the dwarves .Doflo sees that he has the advantage as far as power and strength in numbers .Yet if that Smile factory gets blown up all that goes out the window.He simply won’t have any leverage in the underworld anymore and that’s what counts in one piece .All those soldiers and fighters freed would be too much for him .No smile means no Kaidou backup .Fujitora is gonna step away in display of blind justice and let him get what he deserves. Only bad thing about One Piece is that when a new chapter is over the fiend cycle starts all over again.
Wonder if Hakuba will end facing against Zoro down the road instead of the Zatoichi homage?
