Whats more interesting is that Kaido is known as âthe strongest thing aliveâ (presumably since whitebeard was killed), but Shanks was able to stop or turn around his entire fleet with just his small crew. Is Shanks just not categorized a threat because he has earned the respect top government/navy officials somehow (like Luffy has all over the world with his acts of kindness)?
He basically has been able to do his dirty business under the table and some out in the open without the Marines touching him for a minute because of his Warlord status. Without that, some his junk is going to be left open for the Marines to attack and a few of his legit businesses are going to get touched. He has been able to play everyone on both sides of the law for a while because of his status but now he will take a hit no matter which option he wind up taking.

Kaido is probably a beast that ate a DF that gave him intelligence or human like awareness/consciousness. Him being a fan of Zoan types probably confirms a link with animals. Probably sees Zoan as the strongest type of ZF User. Chopper was considered monster way back, and he even revealed understanding animals due to being one originally.
