That said, I think I get why Oda took this long to get to this part. For all intents and purposes, Luffy and the StrawHats could have probably just steamrolled past Hodi and Vander Decken easily and have been done with it. By showing all these flashbacks, this fight now has more meaning than simply just getting someone out of the StrawHats way.

You can also watch One Piece episodes on its official website for Funimation. The site doesn’t have all of the episodes (it has the first 3 or so seasons which cover all the way to the end of the Skypiea arc, and then all of the recent episodes from around Sabaody to current), and there are advertisements, but at least it’s a safe and legit site, and you’re supporting the actual license.
You can also watch those same episodes on Hulu.
For everything between those episodes (i.e., Davy Back Fight, Water 7, Enies Lobby, and Thriller Bark), you’re going to have to go to some of those anime streaming websites, such as the one SWBeta mentioned.
I usually go there but for me, they havnt had op for viewing in ages…

I’ve felt for a while that all the fights in this arc will be “look how much we leveled up” fights. I still feel this is true.
The only fights that should be close are the low tier strawhats like Mansop, but yeah, this should be a curb stomp.

At this stage in the game I think even Manssop has enough gusto to take on Cookiecutter Shark midget fishman with relative ease. I think the arc is to spread the Strawhats’ fame/infamy right when they hit the New World. World Government and pirates alike will know how they wrecked Fishman Island singlehandedly and be like “Woah! They’re serious bidness!”
Well the Fish-steriods will more than likely make-up the difference to the point the strawhats are losing for a bit, then comeback and commence a gear 4 beat down (>_<)’
