Once KOF XIII gets its netcode fixed, it will be the best FG this gen

Can we decide if netcode makes KOFXIII the best as a fighting game? (in terms of actual gameplay) no

Can we decide if netcode makes KOFXII the best as a whole thing for consumers? yes.

Show me a character that uses fire mainly with their feet like how Kyo uses fire with his fists and maybe we can talk…

Just because it’s the best doesn’t mean it’s going to get played

Are you trying to make KOF fans look bad or something? It is a good fighting game, but no way it is the best.

MvC3 and UMvC3 are lukewarm just so you know.

Not to mention BlazBlue CS:Extend. It took them several iterations before they finally arrived at Accent Core and Extend is looking better than it’s predecessors so it’s on track to be one of the greats alongside KOF XIII.

What does that have to do with Skullgirls being a great fighter?

Lol OP is a troll so this makes no sense.

Of this year maybe, of this gen probably not, really premature to say it, this thread should be closed imo.

Show me another fighting game with:
-GGPO
-An Infinite Prevention System that does not discourage folks from doing long combos as long as they have the skill and know-how to work with the system.
-Non-arbitrary input windows - input windows are defined by the motion itself.

Spoiler

-Ratio Tag Battles
-Custom assists
-No true high-low unblockables. If a high and low attack hit at the same time, you only have to block one of them. You can however, time them to create “hard-to-blockables” with the difference being that the defending player can block both attacks if they’re good enough.
-GGPO
…then maybe we can talk.

That’s all nice but hey as good as that sounds what does any of that mean if I can’t find a character that interests me? You can make a quality FG all you want but if it doesn’t have that “click” then none of that shit matters. I can go on and on about how great KOF XIII is but if you aren’t excited to play it then what does any of quality mean? I’m not going to assume you’re one of those people who plays a game because “everyone else” is playing it.

:coffee:

Anyways… yeah, shit netcode or not, KOFXIII is the best fighting game of 2011. Easily.

Fuck what the casuals, scrubs, and wannabe hardcores got to say.

lets not tun this shitty thread in a more shitty thread please
its nice that you support SG dev, but dont dismiss the qualities of other games just because

I can’t really argue with hatred edge because from what I can tell he’s found all he needs in a fighter with KoF. KoF is an amazing game so I’m alright with it. But the people that complain about fighters and mainly capcom related ones, if they complain about street fighter I point them to Kof and if they bitch about marvel then I point them to skullgirls. Though honestly if I hear a fighting game is really good then ill make it my mission to play that game and make myself find a character to like. By summer of next year ill most likely consider blazblue extend, king of fighters and skullgirls to be the best fighters of this gen.

Please do not begin to compare games, I also love the concept of skullgirls and I like everything that brings but this is a troll thread, not a good place to begin this discussion.

all bs aside, kof 13 is the best/most solid game I ever played this generation. Even if the netcode is bad, gameplay wise is trumps every other FG from SF4 and up.

the only game I’m looking forward to now is tekken tag2. Other then that fuck everything else.

Hey, jabroni. Learn how to read.

no one is gonna play persona and im oddly excited for that game

MvC2 still rules

I can’t wait for the Persona 4 fighter! I am a fan of the Shim Megami Tensei Persona series (besides the first one), so I am looking forward to what is in store with the fighter.

By saying “net code doesn’t matter” you don’t acknowledge the effort by some dev teams that DID give you a good netcode.
I’d like developers to give me both a good game and a good net code and I’m willing to show my gratitude towards the ones who do.

they aren’t fixing the netcode so much as they are fixing the matchmaking. it’ll just make it easier to find the best matches than it is currently… but the best matches could still be terrible.

The developer of this thread doesn’t give a shit about the people who reply. He just wants to attract casual posters with all this extra flashy crap

I just don’t like it as much as SSFIV or UMvC3. The characters aren’t as cool but theres more to it than that… It just doesn’t click ya know that feeling when a game is awesome and you can tell it is but for some reason you just dont like it all that much?

On another note after reading about Skullgirls here I’m pretty excited for that.
