Sounds like you have a problem with your Xbox to me.
It’s certainly possible, but all my other peripherals have worked fine. Several Hori Ex Turbo 2s, Madcatz pads, never had a hitch with any of them. I tried several USB ports on both the Xbox and newer computer, didn’t seem to make a difference.
My working theory right now is the wiring in this room is causing some kind interference at the same frequency as the stick. When the bottom plate comes into something conductive, it goes apeshit. I know next to nothing about electronics though, so maybe I’m way off mark. For the record I unplugged every electronic device in the room except the LCD and Xbox and it still does the same thing.
Right now the only way to play the stick is to put it ontop of a cardboard box in my lap lol.
Move the Xbox into another room and see if it plays right.
I really doubt you’d go 3/3 with defective Hori sticks is all I’m saying. Far more likely you have a wiring issue in your home.
This is probably correct. Bad wiring can cause all sorts of problems that go undetected until you plug more sensitive stuff into them. I’d try another room or location you can test the stick.
I can second this problem.
Xbox recognizes another devices perfectly (HRAP EX and standard controllers).
I did a bit of digging/opened stuff up. It’s a bad PCB. All the wires are live. If you tap a wire, it registers as an input. Same goes for the JLF harness and the buttons. I haven’t got around to resoldering the PCB and seeing if it is just bad contacts.
I’ll keep you guys posted.
Are you experiencing the same ghosting when touching the bottom plate?
-peasy-What’s up dudes, I have the same problems with my Hori’s from amazon, this guy J J is not lying about the defective Hori’s. With two Hori VX fightsticks, and, two Hori UMvC fightsticks ordered from Amazon, I’d like to think I know what I am talking about. I did get two of them 2 work thanks to an e-mail from Hori corp. themselves. They told me to(.1 Keep plugging and unplugging the controller into my xbox until it syncs itself, and, (.2 To check if my 360 platform has the latest firmware update. Now, let me just say that I did’nt give a rats ass for this lame advice but, I tried it ,and, essentially tried pushing the sync button on my XboX, and, I know this proceedure is for wireless controlling, but, 5 minutes into my gameplay, two of my 4 Hori fightsticks were working perfectly( thanx Hori, I wuv you !! ). Now, one more bit of info I’d like to add. All, these gamers that are telling you " oohhh my controller works fine " probably did not order their controller from amazon( who BTW probably has some 911 policy to nuke every controller box coming from all manufacturers that they carry, and, fry the GoDdamn circuit board with some kind of X-ray machine, you know to make sure there are no C6 plastic explosives in the box.- facts provided by my brother, and, agreed upon by me. Also, if that is not the case all these guys saying oh that never happend to my controller, probabaly still has the old, may catch a bad case of the red-ring of death xboxes, cause, I personally, have a Halo: REACH s.e. Xbox so I could not b more up to date, and, it’s a little know fact, you StreetFighters are still playing editions of StreetFighter on old platforms (i.e. Dreamcast, Segasaturn, xbox1, playstation 2 ) just becuse these old ass fightstick formats work easily on your system does not mean it goes easylemon squeezy for us Hard-earned money spenders. So, stop saying that, you cheap bastards!!!.
What a elaborate troll.
Seriously 1.5 / 10.
Yeah. I’m guessing the ground wire isn’t soldered on correctly or needs to be resoldered since it’s constantly in a “live” state.
How’s the new shtick working, kid ?
Oh crap, really?
I was just planning on buying that exact arcade stick on amazon… |:
I bought my VX-SA on Amazon in early 2011 (January or February, I forget) and it never gave me an issue. I dual modded it with a ChImp and it’s still going strong.
I admit both my experience and the OP’s are anecdotal, but given the number of these sticks I see at my local gatherings (maybe it’s more popular in Canada?) I imagine you’ll be fine.
I bought my HRAP V3 SA in Nov 2010 from Amazon and it’s been fine since. I know it’s not a xbox stick but I’m in Canada also. From the number of complaints in the thread it sounds like it might be a Hori manufacturing issue with a certain production batch?
