Ok guys, so there is no OCC on Thursday. I am just wondering if you guys want to check out the Tacoma scene tomorrow. Weāll probably bump into our good old friend Stuart Hayden just a FYI. Itās at Dorkyās Arcade in Downtown Tacoma from 7 pm till closing. 9 pm they start to sift out the minors but sometimes they let the āunder ageā people stay late. We can bring our own setups which we would probably want to do anyway. Venue is free however we need to order food and items from the venue to keep it that way. Lets co-ordinate if there is any interest.

Olympia Street Fighter Crew,
Starting December 5th, my Sunday gatherings will temporarily be put on hold until further notice. While there are many reasons for this hiatus, first and foremost we must consider the temperatures; as they drop, it makes more sense to keep people off the roads and thus putting their lives at risk for video games. After the winter has passed, I may or may not be willing to open my place back up for Sundays, but that decision will come with time. As it currently stands, there are too many additional issues that have left me with a bit of a bad taste in my mouth concerning the overall lack of respect towards my residence being used as a meeting venue-
Iām also concerned with the lack money that Iām receiving as payment for the extra energy our group demands every week. I personally donāt have an issue with it, but Iām not the only person paying the rent at this location, so I have to abide by rules that make both parties happy. Weāre not asking for a lot of compensation here, but we canāt have certain people paying more than others because thatās unfair to the parties who are expending more. Having said that, I still donāt think weāre asking for the world when we request just five dollars a month.
Weāre also left with the outstanding issue of the time management. We are all (young) adults here, and I know we each have different responsibilities that makes it difficult for us for coordinate our gatherings, but Iāve stated on multiple occasions that these meetings are supposed to run from 3:00pm to 10:00pm. I also know we all have a blast and want to run those salty matches back deep into the night, but itās highly inconsiderate of people to abuse my good nature by continually staying in the AM on a weekly basis, even after Iāve given the warning to wrap up your runbacks. You have to remember that I also live someone who works 40+ hours a week and doesnāt want to come home to hype matches ātill midnight. I have to consider his needs as paramount, because at the end of the day, he does own the residence.
Iāve tried to avoid putting something like this into writing because I know how close we all are, and how close the fighting game community has made us, but I canāt help but feel like weāre going backwards in terms of our respect and maturity towards people offering up an entire level of their home so we can get better at a few video games.
Next weekend (12/4/11) will be our last gathering of the Fall/Winter and should mark the end of an era for the Olympia Scene with relation to having Streets at my home. I want to reassure everyone that I consider all of you to be friends, and would like to continue having relationships with all of you in the future, but I simply cannot keep running these events at my home. I hope you all can understand and respect the gravity of this situation, and react accordingly.
I cannot say for sure if the event will return once the season has passed, I can only think if that if it were to be true, we would have to take precautionary measures to make sure we donāt let history repeat itself.

Dont sweat it Lopez, everyone in the Olympia crew is good people. They all appreciate you letting them in your place to do gatherings. Its good that you let this out in the open that way if you ever do decide to do gatherings again, you have set your boundaries. I myself have not & probably be a good time to do so now.
As you all i know i have a business that i have to do 24hrs a day 7 days a week. Mother Russia was suppose to be(no earlier) 6:00pm till midnight only but it keeps getting push back later & later 2am to 3 sometimesā¦As much as i want to spend all night till morning, i I have to get up 6am every morning to take care of business. Im getting way too old & w/ another child on the way, i will need as much rest possible. So the latest Mother Russia will be is 1am. That means everyone should be ready to go by 1am.
One other thing is that once we are actually outside, we need to keep the voice volume down. Noise really travels late at night over my area, i have a good rapport w/ my neighbors so yeah lets keep it down once the garage opens up.
Other then that, all seems good. These gatherings are fun as hell & really helps me unwind in such a busy life. Iāll see everyone at Mother Russia this Friday!
Ah is that all? See I was thinking you were getting upset at all the stereotyping with Hispanics and kof. Itās probably best we take a break from Sundays for awhile and I think winter is a good time for that. Gives us more time with our families and such. If you do intend to keep Sundays going after the holidays weāll of course try and follow your set rules but you should also make more of an effort to enforce them (though I know you donāt want to cause you feel like a dick when you do) honestly I doubt gabis would ever get rid of us if gabi wasnāt so experienced at getting people out of her store and following her rules.
On anouther compleatly unrelated topic this Thursday we are going to do a secret Santa drawing. For those of you who donāt know the details of that here are the guidelines.
-No gift can be over 20$
-Donāt tell the person whoās name you pulled that you are getting them a gift (thatās what makes it SECRET Santa)
-If your not sure what to get for eachother (which is probably unlikely as we all know eachother pretty well) but we can post up our likes and such so we can get an idea of what to get eachother. Also you can ask other people for ideas just make sure we donāt know whoās getting what for who.
-lastly since we have the twins I want to avoid the unlikely situation that the twins pull eachothers names so to counter that Iām going to take one of the twins for myself (not gonna say which so itās at least semi-secret) the other brother will be put in the hat and be pulled randomly. This doesnāt compleatly negate the chance one brother will pull the other but it reduces the chance.
So get hype secret Santa suckas!
Or, and this makes more sense, just have the twins pick before putting their names in.

No I donāt think so Josh said he might not be able to make it Thursday but can show up Friday. Also I know I wanted to do a big tournament but the place that would have hosted us got robbed at gunpoint days before I was going to tell the management when we were going to show up, so yea that didnāt happen. Which is also why I didnāt pressure anyone to make flyers ect.
Also yes I want to get one of the twins something canāt say anything about it else youāll ruin the surprise so shush up! =P
Thursday, Friday and Sunday have gatherings. Iām going to attend two of the three events. Sunday has high priority since it will be the last of offline Tekken for awhile. So its either go Thursday skip on Friday or vice versa. If there is a real need for me to be at OCC then I shall come otherwise I will be MIA.
I want to make a tribute video to a member of the Rose forum, but we can do it next week, so you can do Fri+Sun if you prefer.
Is this in regards to the SF player that passed away recently by the name of Joshua Colon? If so I had no idea he was a Rose player. Nothing stops you from recording stuff at Madre Russia.
