So I was on YT today and I saw an interesting video posted up by Gamester81. Its about an Arcade in Tacoma called Dorky’s Arcade. It opened in 2010 so I have no idea what it’s like. If you guys want sometime next week or something we can take a trip down there and see what its like. It looks more like a retro arcade but who knows. From what I saw it looks like they had a MvC2 cab, Different SF II cabs, Tekken Tag, and Killer Instinct.
So I’ll be able to make it to Lopez’s this sunday, not sure if Jordan can make it, if not I may need to find an alternate ride. Also just got back from the arcade in seaside, broken sticks/buttons on both the mvc2 cab and the sf2 cab, however they had a sweet snk cab with windjammers, the best game based on frisbee’s ever!

I live about 3 blocks from Dorky’s. It’s a retro arcade. They don’t have many fighting games though.

That’s it. The place is pretty chill though. I usually go by a few times a week since it’s right next to my sisters work.
Also, I’m looking into getting a second venue. There is a comic shop I regular that only has events thur-sunday. So when I get the chance I’m going to ask them about hosting casuals.
It’s about a half hour drive from Lacey to Lakewood. So, if anyone is interested in making the drive, carpooling, whatever. I’ll pursuit the option of having casuals/tournaments there. Cause I’m pretty good friends with everyone that works there. It also helps that several of them enjoy street fighter as well.
So…I guess just post whatever day is good for everyone and I’ll try to see if I can make it happen.
Probably won’t be til September or so cause I have a really busy weeks at work coming up plus I’m going to Eastern Washington for a week in September.
The venue itself is great. It’s right next door to a really awesome theater and a bar that has some pretty nom foodstuffs. And there is plenty of joints to eat in walking distance/short drive distance.
And the area we’d be using is WAAAAAYYY bigger than Gaby’s so we wouldn’t have to be all cramped and all huddled around one table.
Wow didn’t know you live by Dorky’s, that’s pretty cool. I would probably like to check it out eventually but I guess the need isn’t that urgent now. I used to live in Lakewood next to Steilacoom Park. I think I know where you’re talking about. I’m willing to check it out since I live super close.
