Was able to make it out to Saturday Slugfest VIII. Wasn’t able to stay after I got eliminated because I was going to some party in Seattle with a friend and end up getting pretty drunk. Anyways, it was pretty interesting and there were some good people there. The only problem was that it was impossible to get any casuals in for UMvC3 so the first time I got to play ended up being my first match lol. I won, but had to wait nearly 2 hours before my next match for Dr. Doom Kills to show up. Would have been nice to get some casuals in because there was a decent amount of Marvel players there. Thinking I might just stick with the Gamebreakerz monthly. Lynnwood is just too far for me lol, but I wanted to try it out. Speaking of the Gamebreakerz monthly, anyone want to go with me this weekend? Just got to pitch in a few bucks for gas and I can give 2-3 people a ride.<br>

It was good seeing you, Kyle! Yeah… Rat, Jeff, and Landis didn’t make it until 6:20ish and we actually started on time. I wasn’t expecting that to be as much of a shock considering we did that at Gamebreakerz, too, but it was. A shame you had to leave so early because those three, all of Portland except Martin, and a lot of Seattle players sticked around for casuals until 2am

Is Gaby’s still a thing or have most of you guys moved on to that Lakewood venue or something?</p><p>I’m doing well - posting from my work as a trainer - I was able to transfer to a job site down here in Portland. I’m trying to stay sharp with UMVC3 and trying to pick up SF4 again. If you see me playing a FG on PSN challenge me! (PSN: Alexplz)</p><p>The portland community is pretty cool; they have a great spot for play on tue and fri. Little hole in the wall but they have a good 10 setups or so and charge $5 for all night. Plus you can swear and drink soooo.</p><p>I’m trying to balance playing games with other stuff in my life like experiencing Portland with Cassie, working, longboarding, drawing etc. Hope you guys are all doing well in your game of choice and in life as well. We are doing good Alex we still play at occ but, we are now starting to go to more monthly tournaments in Auburn. Give us a heads up when you come over it will be nice to see you again.
Just a heads up, it looks like Shandor is planning on making this month’s Pot Bonus Battle his “last event for quite a while.” I would start making plans early!
Other note is that this month’s Slugfest will be featuring UMvC3 from Seattle, Oregon, and now Canada. We’ll also be making setups for this event available earlier (although once it got started, we did have them going till 2am waaay after the tournament).
Armand’s gotten top 8 in the past two monthlies, yaaay!
Just wanted to say “good job” to everybody in our local scene who’s been coming up to Auburn with us.
Regardless of whether or not you go 0-2, just remember to learn from your matches and take that information back home!
