Delete that its at my place.

We need more than 2 hours.

Lemme talk with my buddies up here, we might be grabbing my stuff the weekend of the 4th instead. I’ll let you kids know tomorrow about hosting. I really didn’t want to drive up here just to drive all the way back the next day. I could probably come back saturday and have things at my place.

Folding chairs still needed though, tossed out 3 of mine

Sigh ok. After talking more with brock it looks like we are going to do it at his apartments middle rec house thingymahjig.

Ill get the exact details later.

We’ll just need 4 setups.

Ugh I just think this is going to be too much of a hassle brock.

Apparently one of my CS TA is into fighting games casually. Gonna try to get him come to game night.

so what time are we looking at?

i ve been mashing on it the past couple of days.got the pc leaked arcade version up and running in a cab, the game is hella fun.

1601 E Florida, Urbana IL 61802

5/6pm - 9pm

then if we can go to brocks apartment

Its the building in the middle. Get there on time with xbox 360 setups!

I am totally falling in love with 3s again, even though I’m playing the terrible anniversary collection on xbox version.

Reasons why I’m loving it:

-characters (still among my favorites in any fighting game, only game I will play ryu in, ken has not and will not ever look better, all the low tier characters are interesting to watch and play)

-Input tolerances and windows (reversals require timing, but not ridiculously strict, links are present, challenging and rewarding without being the end all be all of combos) Also the engine in terms of flexibility for inputs and juggles is well within reason. For example, being able to half circle from charge moves into super buffers and charge partitioning.

-meaties serve a purpose

-cross ups have significance without being abusable (i.e. no universal corner cross ups, auto corrects are harder to come by)

-movesets (sufficiently varied, mixing charges and qc’s in the same characters, moves switching based on characters being turned around etc. Thinking of Alex’s stuff in particular)

-meter management (I like having access to supers and ex moves at the same time but having to strategically pick a super because of that)

-Of course art style and animation, gritty and smooth and not super anime styled.

Honestly I’ve never had a fighting game I’m super in love with but if a game like third strike came out with focus instead of parrying (keeping fireball zoning legit and retaining the meter expenditure for FADC) and a similar input windows and meter/super balance choices, I think that may be my ideal game. I guess it’d be a blend of ST, 3s and SFIV all in one. Some games I really think over do the options for supers ( or helpers, mana whatever the jazz is called, AH comes to mind) where there are a ton of choices but limited useful ones. Maybe I’m just on a nostalgia trip at the moment but some stuff feels really nice about this game. I’m sure in a while I’ll remember what I got frustrated with too. Maybe it’s just cause I’ve gotten a bit better that I like the game more. But I’ve been thinking about what I like in games and this fits pretty well.

On that note, REALLY looking forward to 3s online edition and learning the characters I always wanted to play but didn’t have the skills for. Here’s to them not messing with the game too much (scaled up sprites and HDR style button config only please)

I’d really like Alex in AE, thank you and good night

For anyone (like me) that happened to be curious:

Jill and Shuma will only be immediately to those that have the Special Edition of MVC3. However, they will be available for DL approximately a month after release.

Frankly, I’m fine with waiting. I have no real desire whatsoever to play either character even AFTER release, so I’ll just hold off until I can just buy them separate from the SE.

Whatcha think, guys?

^
Real

Btw Flexxo/shiki lets get some TVC in tomorrow!

Sigh I could really care less for Bison in MvC3. Although I hope hes more alpha style and they jazz him up a bit.

Frank you’re actually coming?

^
Yeah I’m coming. I was gunna go cali but said ehhh fuck it.

Marvel 3 is now just another game where i can scream out “Give him the Dic” whenever i please

Cali for what?

I’m definitely still interested. I’ll talk to Brock at the ranbat. Anyone else interested so we can save money on shipping?

one question – so the ranbat IS at brock’s place for sure now???

The SE doesn’t give you Jill and Shuma on release date it just comes with a redeem code for them that you can use once they are made available.

Also fakes are easily made I mean look at this http://sketchcardsaloon.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/20110101-124310.jpg thats not to say the M. Bison one is fake just dont get your hopes up.

That one is clearly shooped though.

Yeah… That looks terrible. lol At least the Bison one LOOKS good.
