Hell yes to HnK, original JP version has a brilliant and most memorable OST, and if you like drum n’ bass watch the western version.
Problem with Air Master is it’s not very good. If you want a strong female lead that is believable, Seirei no Moribito is the best bet. Balsa is 30-something year-old warrior in a feudal age, and her personality appropriately matches.AND it has good fights paced well that make sense, etc.
yeah…ie, everything is leaning towards shoujo and away from shonen…since everybody is mostly tired of shonen formulas…
but i’m not. i can never be tired of shonen shit.

Was just about to come in and say this. Slayers is funny as fuck, definitely my favorite older anime.
The right one, there are a lot of differences between the movie and the 4 part series.
Also avoid Macross II and 7 like the plague.

This is just completely wrong, it’s not about shonen or shojo, it’s about what’s most popular with the otaku of the time. The shonen and shoujo stuff still comes out with the same level of regularity as it has for the past 30 years. ALL the other anime, like Macross plus, Cowboy Bebop, and even K-on, are all for the OTHER fans.
I’d just watch both for the sake of seeing it all
