Dude, I bet there are actually wiminz who play smash.
Like, okay, maybe just one or two. But still!
Everyone should go over to the garage games booth and check out MetalDrift if they are demoing it.
I played against one of those ladies last night. She beat me all over the place with pikachu.
That was actually dann with a wig.
I got videos of the last couple rounds of SCIV, so I’ll be posting them up when I have the time later.
surprisingly enough there were 2 attractice women playing guitar hero 3. What I was more amazed about besdies the fact that they were beasting on expert, was the fact that they weren’t getting rushed the fuck down by everyone else.
Another thing that surprises me was just how much fun I had today. Even if it was “work”, I am trying to go help tomorrow to actually pick up random swag…but I kinda want a ride because i paid 28 dollars for parking today
But yeah Robert I am down to help out next year definately. I’ll try to go for all 3 days. You guys actually missed me being nice to everyone…Even Robert.
I felt kinda bad for the ppl in my pool for SC…during practice I played against 2 people, then no one wanted to step up and practice. But when the tournament got under way, I had to actually put in work to get out of my bracket a little bit. Then lost my first match in the top 32 to a Kilik player…yeah I’m not happy about that at all. No offense to the guy cause he definately knew what he was doing, I just fucked up and didn’t pick Cassandra first, then when I did pick her I missed a lot of oppertunities mainly in part from raping scrubs online.
Who won the tournament anyway? I was in the 4th bracket (lost, gg to the yoshi player), but had to roll out a little afterwards. Did the finals have some good matchups?
One of those women has to be StarSlayer. Did she have red hair? She’s on my myspace =) There was another one in Dallas by the name of “Tipper Queen”, she qualified for the WCG Nationals for Guitar Hero 3.
EDIT: Myspace link - http://www.myspace.com/judynailsghgamer
I played MK vs DC - that feels as clunky as you would expect in the MK series. It’s like they have huge weights in their upper body as opposed to having waist-centered movement. The MK 3D series is my least favorite 3D game series - it’s like you’re fighting using a Blitz lineman. =P
I played Guitar Hero: World Tour : after three days of PAX, that kick drum pedal was DONE. But the Guitar Hero rep told me I Rocked, so that was good. On easy.
Mario Super Sluggers seems like a new version of RBI Baseball, which is good. But fuck the WiiMote’s motion sensor.
I played a level 70 Rogue in the World of Warcraft expansion, but I don’t know anything about the game so couldn’t tell you jack. I just run up to something and died. Whee.
There was a Team Frag Dolls Suck in the Halo 3 tournament - I was amused. The MLG guys scraped the other team in Grand Finals 150-75 or something. I recorded the Grand Finals.
I snagged some of the official PAX posters too. I figure I’ll put a world map up at work to amuse myself.
Thanks to everybody who helped out, I really appreciate it. Hope to see you there next year.

how did you find this?!?!?!
Ring Out Edit: Also John Mickey is from around here (Kirkland) he seemed interested in trying to learn more about the game, and he had a some good basic knowledge of the game (I had to put in work towards the end to win).
^-- Zig was going to throw the brackets away so I jumped on them.
Yes, I stood in line for 40 minutes to play Starcraft 2. Yes, it was worth it.
I’m glad Zach didn’t get hooked on WoW at PAX, I kinda directed him to the Blizzard booth. Zach, I was trying to get your attention when you were at the drums on stage but you seemed to be concentrating hard. It was bomb how you jumped on it for the last song of the weekend. I tried to get on the GH4 drums but one time I ended up singing and the other time playing guitar. People were just rushing that shit down.
I’m amazed at how much PAX has grown over the years. I’ve been to all except one and while there has always been sooo much to do, it is getting more and more attendance and industry respect every year. The expo floor was almost indistinguishable from the GDC one this year (minus GDC’s gamedev focus).
Also, the people smelled less this year. Or maybe that’s because I didn’t enter the Smash tournament room.
You know I thought it was going to be pretty nasty too, but the only time i caught whiff of something foul was when i was in the exhibition hall, but even than I only remember being like wtf? twice.
I only wish I actually spent some time in the expo hall… oh well, next year I’ll have more free time to actually not work all day. Woot.
Haha… ‘X’ in Pool 15 was me. I got a free ride into the final match because the other guys in my pool didn’t know how to fill out a bracket correctly (there were only 5 of us), didn’t feel like writing my full name out a whole bunch of times, so I just crossed out all the bys.
Btw, most awesome part of the tournament… one of the guys I beat during casuals has shown up early enough to get a concert wristband, but decided he was too tired to stay up and actually use it, so he gave it to me as a consolation prize. I may not have actually won… but that totally would have been worth first place to me, lol.
Nice one, Sorias. Indirect winner.
Chris Ting is a beast. When playing Soul Calibur 2 at the HUB, with volume turned to the max, of course, he’s always raping people. I tried playing him once and he went 5-0 against me. And I’m a SC2 specialist; I was in shock.
Who won Halo? I don’t know which one was the MLG team.
I was trying to get your attention to see if you wanted me to hold your place in line for WOW, but you were gone so I just played anyways. I had no idea what I was doing, but evidently I rock with a level 70 Rogue. =P
The Guitar Hero drum pedal was busted as hell (registered 1/2 of my kicks) and the singer was in the way of the game monitor, so I had no idea you were even there. Whoops. It was pretty cool to get the last play in, though, but I would have preferred Rock Band, really. Metal drum pedals for the win. =\
Do any of you have the Evo2k3, Evo2k4, or Evo2k5 Tekken, VF, or SC DVDs?
