Oga Cross Set Ups

e-mail it to me, and I’ll upload it and post a new link. chris -DOT- pye -AT- gmail -DOT- com

Mantis Super, Crane c.MP, xx Oga is one of my favorite things to do vs charge characters.

Man I don’t do this often because whenever i do try it I end up eating a Rising Ball or Flash Kick  <= and as you can see… it makes me sad

what dive are you using? I mix it up. I study them as I’m playing them. if they throw out stuff like that. I do a ceiling dive then counter their flash kick. If they don’t I do a very shallow wall dive.

Alright, here’s CantoEsper’s excel spreadsheet: http://cbpye.net/OgaSetups-CE.xls

Not trying to be an asshole or anything, but how is this supposed to be read?

Thanks for posting this Cbpye. I know there was no notes that came with the file so I will explain what my train of thought was while making this. I put this together so we can have ALL the information available in a consise matter and really the best way to explain this file is by example:

-Lets say you land an Crane Ultra 2 (Teiga) on Ryu
-You go to the top row and find Crane Ultra 2
-Once found, you move down the column until you reach Ryu’s Row
-You will notice there is a number “6” in that block
-If you look at the “Legend” on the right you will see that “6” = “> Forward LK Oga > Far Kick”
-So that means you execute this after the Crane Ultra 2.
-Therefore the full setup becomes “Crane Ultra 2 > Forward LK Oga > Far Kick”

I hope you dont mind if I replace the huge original post with these links you have made  and let me know if you still don’t get it.

Go right ahead! And, now that you’ve explained it, I really like that method of writing it down.

so. any update on the first post list? set ups discovered etc?

Edit: I dont get the 3th legend, for example on almost everyone after a foward throw, wait a sec, then walk slighty foward and do lk oga, if you walk foward you lose charge to do lk oga i dont get it.

the wait refers to allowing time for your opponent to start to wake up. you roll the stick from down foward thru up foward. the input leniency will allow you to hold a charge for a few frames while you walk foward slightly

oh ofcourse… i forgot i was playing sf4 lol
thanks

Hey guys I just updated the original post so it has the latest cross-ups on it and is even easier to read than before. Hope someone finds this useful

Some setups, vs other characters these setups are not tested. I will test when i have time.

Sorry for my english! ^^

I like the EX-hands to Sweep to Oga Cross! that is something that completely slipped my mind when testing my crosses. Time to enter the lab again!

What about Adon? Now that his wakeup frames were changed in AE setups on him should be revised

Adon’s quick wake up seems to only have worked on tech wakeups and most of the setups are set for untechable knockdowns so there is little to no change in the setups… I’m currently working on updating the oni/e. ryu info and ex hands to sweep setups

hope this helps

dead links =[

OP, is the spreadsheet still relevant and being updated constantly? I’ve been using it for a while now to learn many of the setups but, I’ve been asking myself if it’s relevant or if there’s newer more efficient tech that should be used instead of the ones shown on this.

It is still relevant. If you’re after more gimmicks for your arsenal the shenanigans and unblockable thread is where you’ll find the newer tech.

When it says finish Gekiro at different heights, does that mean I need to get the last hit on low? or just mean i let them drop out early?

doesnt mean to drop down, means to get the last hit in at the highest or lowest possible height.
