If that rumor was true, I would pee up my pants and w00t like Satan as I play as Sonic the Hedgehog and Felicia in a spin dash combination attack. But, it may not happen. Maybe one day.
It’s not a versus game, but a CROSS game, a la Namco X Capcom and Cross Edge. So yeah. 
It’s supposed to be a RPG/FG hybrid, and yeah it’s for the DS I made a mistake sorry. But then…that’s even worse.

In the end, it was silly to think that if MvC3 was going to be a reality…that it was going to be announced here at TGS.
Right now, Capcom’s got enough on their plate, marketing Fate: UC, Gundam vs. Gundam (NEXT), TC and SF4. I wouldn’t expect them to invest in any other arcade/fighting games until the “hey-day” period for all of these titles are done.
But Yet Both Companys Wants To Do It??..It’s Gonna Happen Just Not This Year…Hopefully At E3 They’ll Let Us Have It
I wouldn’t exactly hold my breath, in any case.
Both Marvel and Capcom have been talking out their asses about MvC3 for a couple of years now. I don’t see the situation changing any time soon, I don’t what a Marvel CEO at ComicCon may have said.
Not when Capcom has their own things to attend to (which would probably include sequels/updates to at least some of what they have to offer), and Marvel’s got their own things, as well.
If they can’t even form a deal for the sake of re-printing MvC2, and make a PS2 compilation pack or digital downloads of the older Marvel games…all things which would spell EASY MONEY for both parties involved…I think that would be enough to showcase that those who want their Marvel will probably have to wait for a while longer yet.
