The tier ranking isn’t what I exactly intended people to concentrate on. The most important thing actually isn’t the rank of characters, but the match ups each character has against other ones.

The following blurb below is an explanation of the tier chart i posted. If you know how to read it and you understand how it works then skip this post nowww:

-The 3s chart is based off on 10 pts between both characters. The 10 points represent the number of times a character would win out of 10 matches.

Let’s use this match up for an example: Dudley vs Gouki

Look on the left side of names and look for Dudley. Dud’s is 5th on the list, and looking from the top row for Gouki, he’ll be in the 7th column. Now when you find both characters, look at the number they’re linked to; in this case it is 4. Dudley has a 4/6 match up against Gouki. Which means if the best Dudley player was to play against the best Gouki player, the outcome should be (out of 10 matches) Gouki wins 6 matches, and Dudley with only 4.

-Why is the match up in Gouki’s favor instead of Dudley’s?

Well i’m not too knowledgable about this match up, but i can see that:

1. it’ll be hard for the Dudley player to get in on Gouki while he throws fireballs/air fireballs.
2. Hurricane kicks own Dudley even while ducking, so he’ll have to block majority of the time.
3. If Gouki gets knocked down he has quite a few options against Dudley’s scary oki game. He could: block, parry, DP, teleport, or wake up super.

Now for Dudley’s advantages on this match up:

1. Dudley also has a DP, but not as good as Gouki’s IMO, but still a strong move.
2. Gouki has the smallest stun gauge. So if Gouki were to get hit by a few good punches, he’ll be stunned rather quickly. Which also leads to my next point…
3. Gouki has the worse stamina in the game also. He loses more health than anyone else.

So do the math with the chart and maybe you’ll step your game up.

Oh and on a side note, tier lists are known to be shifty, like its nothing totally solid that you should solely base your game strategy off of. IMO its always about the player’s skills and knowledge about the game. The tier chart is just a reference to remind you what adv/disadv. you have on your opponent. So learn the match ups, practice your execution, and parry everything
