After watching that video of the inside of the TE fightstick I am so glad I preordered one from gamestop.
You could always order from Lizard Lick and get a couple plugs added to your order…
Otherwise, I think they mentioned earlier, among other reasons…
- more practical for other games, etc.
- the last 6 buttons are in a “straight” layout for people who prefer that to the curved layout
Any word on Canadian retailers? =)

we discussed this so many times its not even worth telling you to shut up.
and if you watch the video seth explains that if you like the japan layout you have the 6 buttons to the left and if you like american layouts you use the buttons to the right. please… im tired of people complaining about fucking 8 buttons.
They use 8 buttons it make if functional for all buttons on the consoles 360 and PS3.
It would be very odd to have a Licensed PS3 or Xbox 360 controller to have missing functionality for two buttons (BOTH consoles utilize 8 buttons PS3 = Triangle, Square, Cross, Circle, and the 4 triggers = 8, and for the Xbox 360 = A,B,X,Y and the 4 triggers = 8)
Also the button to toggle the joystick as a D-Pad, Left or Right Analog, this makes the stick not simply usable for Street Fighter IV, but nearly any game on the Xbox 360 or PS3, especially other Fighting games or Classic Arcade titles that used a joystick as well.
Also even though the controller may have Street Fighter IV artwork, it’s NOT just for Street Fighter IV. When has a (GOOD) Arcade Stick ever been functional for only a single game.
This isn’t like one of those Guitar Hero controllers with limited usage. This thing can be used for pretty much any game you want to use it for.
I’m glad I preordered the TE from Lizardlick. I decided to go with PS3 but all my friends are buying the game for the 360
what would be the results if i tried to use this joystick with lets says nba 2k9. would it be disastrous ?

Any answers? I want to know too. Thanks
Exact same as me.
I only have a PS3 though… I would consider buying the PC version too, although I can’t really tell you why. Just because.
i think i got to find one of them rubber pads to cover the dark buttons like in some of the arcades.
Can u buy these covers?
Here’s a pic of the 360 PCB
and another showing all the innards
Not sure exactly what the easiest way would be to add a second pcb (i.e. cthulhu) but from first glance this shouldn’t too difficult.
In this thread. Check back a few pages. 6.5lbs, same as the VSHG.
I heard they’re planning on cross-platforming PC and 360.
If that’s the case I’d be a very happy camper, although to be honest, if they are doing that it means SF4 will be Games for Windows Live which really, isn’t going to make me (or anyone) very happy.
GFW Live is free to play online, unlike XBL.

Oh-ho, BIG thank you for that!
Is it just me, or is the writing on the wires in the first pic ‘22 AWG’? (22 guage). Thicker than I would have expected, but good stuff.
From what I can gather:
Far right connector: Headset jack.
Upper right: Button connector to the barrier strip daughterboard
Upper left: Stick harness connector
Lower right: 6 pin ribbon cable to the small board under the guide button/turbo switch area. That one is likely just the Guide button and four LED’s.
Middle: USB cable. Damn, if only it used a jack like everything else.
Oh well.
Far right: Ah ha, these are the goodies. 12 wires connecting to the smaller upper left turbo/led/guide board. Assuming their not charlie-plexed or anything, the pinout would likely be something like 8 pins for the LED’s, left stick, right stick, ground, and turbo. That covers everything EXCEPT the tournament mode switch. Huh.

MarkMan, so is it true that we can pair up two TE sticks together for a 2 player setup?
