If you live in BC you can get it sent to Point Roberts, about a 20 minute drive from Vancouver, and avoid all brokerage charges. It will cost you $3 plus gas.

Wait… If the sticks don’t work with the original type of headsets, what type does it work with?

any news on the availability to Canadian retailers?

The new headsets that you would buy in stores today don’t have the weird plastic thing on them(where the mute switch and volume is). The mute and volume are now on the wire itself rather then right at the connector. There are converters that will let you use it though(rockband comes with them).

Problem is, I can’t cross the border. And… I think they need my signature or visa or whatever the crap is.

MarkMan,

How easy is it to remove the PCB all together If someone wanted to use a regular wireless PCB pad. I am guessing you lose all turbo functions but can you still use the home button?

Toodles - might be a side project for you

Unless we figure out how to do 2 PCBs off the common ground setup of this thing.

So is there any news of Canadian retailers carrying this down the road?

Looking like I need to invest in a lamination gadget. Guess the table router can wait lol.

If you remove the original PCB, you remove the part that the Home button connects to; it’d be a plastic hole. Now if you don’t mind destroying to original pcb, and could solder, sure.

Thanks, but I have my hands full.

And that’s what I have my hands full with. If you’re trying to get anything going wireless, I can’t help.

^
Well lets see what you come up with.

MarkMan, any truth to the pairing to TE sticks together for a 2 player setup? I don’t remember reading anything like that other than this thread.

There will be an adapter piece that you can connect to the joystick. The other end has a connector that matches the 360 controller.

That’s good to hear.

Just to show everyone the difference between the old 360 headset connector and the new one:

Note the black tabs on the older version.

MarkMan, thanks for posting the weight of the stick. I appreciate it.

To others - why are people not ordering from Gamestop? Do you have to pay shipping or something? Will you get the stick later? I don’t know why people are going with other places, especially online stores (except for the mom and pop stores with good reputations, of course) over Gamestop. Yeah, there have been problems in the past, but my understanding is that you will only pay 150, so you save on shipping. Am I wrong about any of this?

Of course.

We’re including an adapter piece that will make it compatible with ALL headsets.

You take me for a fool? lol.

I think it’s a combination of personal preference, horror stories and overall reliability.

most of the people complaining are not from the US, so GS charges extra for those purchases which is clearly unfair when other options did not charge extra.

Thanks for the input from the last two posters. ^

I’m still ordering 2 TE’s from there, but I would hate to have the stick dented or damaged.

What did I say when I first saw the case opened? LOL

what i dont understand is if this is the OFFICIAL SFIV stick then why does it hav 8 buttons. when has any SF arcade ever used 8 buttons.
yeah i know it can be used for other games as well…but 6 buttons is more then enough for any fighters out there.
I dont know about u guys but the 2 extra buttons at the end is putting me off this stick - they get in my way even if i use them for shortcuts.

apart from that… I WANT :stuck_out_tongue:
